Shaquille O'Neal: Boston Pops' Guest Conductor!
Shaquille O’Neal puts on his coat and tails as he conducts the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus on Monday (December 20) at Symphony Hall in Boston, Mass.
The 38-year-old Boston Celtics player conducted performances of “Sleigh Ride” and “We Are the Champions” at the show!
“[Celtics PR director Heather Walker] asked me if I wanted to conduct the orchestra,” Shaq told ESPN. “I was like, ‘Seriously, like a real orchestra?’”
“I have a whole new respect for conductors,” Shaq said before the show started. “I went through a rehearsal today, and my arms are shot right now.”

So, what’s the point?
That was definitely the stupidest thing
i’ve ever seen.
He acts like a buffoon sometimes.
We absolutely adore him here in Boston:-)
Love it. If only everyone – including high-profile athletes – could support the arts!!! Kudos to the BSO for inviting him to conduct in the first place.
looks hard…
Very nice. He took it seriously and delivered a great comic performance. I see an acting career for him in the future. Good job!
