Train Reveals Holiday Plans

Train has had a great year thanks to the infectious “Hey, Soul Sister”!

JustJared.com caught up with the band at the Y100 Jingle Ball in Miami. Here’s what the guys had to share:

JJ: I have some holiday questions. What was the best gift you got as a kid growing up?

Train: Scott was saying as a kid he got an Atari so he was pretty psyched about that. I didn’t get much as a kid. *hand mic over to next member* My mom baked a lot of cookies.

JJ: What did you want as a kid that you never got?

Train: I had a big family so I don’t know. I was just psyched about being with my family – my brother would come home from college because I was the last of 7 children so they were all older and some of them leaving, so for them to come back was a big gift for me.

JJ: What do you hope to find under your Christmas tree this year?

Train: I’m still kind of into that stuff. The moments of holidays stick out way more to me as a kid so I have children and I want to try to provide them with moments that will stick out to them in the future.

JJ: Do you have any plans for them this year?

Train: We’re going to ski, snowboard, and just have some down time – sit in front of fires, make jokes, and play Pictionary or whatever the holiday games are. You know the guy that made the game Scene It lives about a mile away from me and it’s an amazing game. So maybe that guy will let me play at his house because he has the biggest house in the universe!

JJ: Do you have any favorite holiday traditions around the house?

Train: There’s a lot of food happening and I play a ton of Christmas music 24 hours a day. Of course there’s Christmas tree decorating and we get outside a lot because I live in the snow up in the Colorado mountains and then come back and sit by the fire.

JJ: Which Christmas songs do you rock out to?

Train: All the really old ones, you know the classics.

JJ: If you could design the ugliest Christmas sweater what would you put on it?

Train: A lot of elves would be on it, but they would look less like elves and more like goats – like how I try to make elves, but they end up looking like goats. *hand mic over to next member* Man, my ugliest sweater would have Santa with his pants down.
