Johnny Depp Covers 'Empire' as Jack Sparrow!

Johnny Depp covers the February 2011 issue of Empire magazine as his infamous character Jack Sparrow.

The 47-year-old actor gave the mag a behind the scenes look at the making of On Stranger Tides, the next installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

In the film, Jack Sparrow (Depp) and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) go on a quest to find the fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are looking for it too.

The trailer for On Stranger Tides premiered earlier this month.

I will go see it because I love Johnny…but that movie plot is lame. Pirate seeing the fountain of youth..what is that?

I so loved Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow…I still have the music as a ringtone but Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was deeply disappointing and this might just be a sequel too far. There comes a time when, no matter how good the actors, the plots are just too far-fetched and the action sequences too re-hashed.
I’ll still go and see this though because it’s Johnny Depp…I can’t not see a Johnny Depp film.

I personally think it was a mistake to take this franchise any further. I think they’ve milked it dry. The pirate thing is getting old, too. He looks like one on film, he decks out like one in real life. He’s going to be an old man sitting around farting in his pirate clothes.

I tried posting a minute ago but I will try again. I love Johnny but I will probably not be seeing this new movie. I only care for the first one and I don’t even remember what the last one was about. They could have made this in such a good series of movies! This will be a blockbuster bomb…if that makes any sense.

After The Tourist bombed so badly, they have to get everyone’s minds back on what made Depp famous, his pirate act. If it weren’t for makeup, the guy wouldn’t have a career.

The Tourist didn’t do as well as hoped, but it has made 120 million worldwide with still a lot of foreign markets yet to open. In the US, if a movie isn’t huge the first couple of days, it’s labeled a “bomb.” It was a fun movie. Most of the people saying they hate it, have never seen it…only read “critics.” Just look at Matt Damon…he’s made films that were barely released. Is he only good in the Bourne films? Some films hit, some miss.
