American Idol's New Judges Cover Entertainment Weekly

American Idol judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and host Ryan Seacrest take the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue.

Here’s what the group shared with the mag:

On their predictions for Idol‘s 10th season:
Ryan: I think you’ll see some of the youngest talent we’ve ever had compete with some of the oldest talent we’ve ever had.
Jennifer: You may have the youngest winner ever.
Randy: I’m going to go out on a limb. I think a girl’s going to win the show.

On Simon Cowell no longer being with the show:
Randy: Look, it’s definitely been interesting. He’s our friend for life. I don’t know if Steven knows him much, but Jennifer definitely knows him. We’ve all hung out together. So, listen, we definitely miss him, but it’s a different kind of vibe. It’s a different kind of energy now. And I think in season 10 the show actually really needed it.

On the show only producing three superstars – Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Daughtry:
Jennifer: I don’t know that that is such a fair statement. You named three [superstars] in nine years— that’s pretty amazing, that’s 33 percent. We all know that in this business, a 1 percent chance is huge, so I think this show is doing pretty well in that arena. So with addressing that comment, what are we looking for? We’re looking for a recording artist, a pop star, someone who’s a real artist. You can tell that when they walk in, the ones that have that special thing.

Kristine, Jennifer Hudson has done well…as an actress. If it weren’t for Dream Girls (and now her weight loss), no one would be talking about her. But, her CD didn’t sell well, and she only got the Grammy because people felt sorry for her (her family was just murdered); Jazmine Sullivan should have gotten the Grammy that year Jennifer won, since she literally ruled the R&B charts that year. .

Underwood, Clarkson, and Daughtry are music superstars, as they’ve sold millions and millions of CD’s and can headline concerts. Hudson will never have a multi-platinum CD with the kind of music she sings, and she’ll never sell out a stadium.

Jennifer Hudson is an Oscar and Grammy award winning artist, I can’t believe they didn’t mention her. Also, Kellie Pickler is widely recognized. Not really looking forward to this season, it’s all too contrived for me to enjoy it.

What about Adam Lambert? Is he not big in America? He sure has a fanbase here in Europe at least, unlike say Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood.

Jennifer : “You named three [superstars] in nine years— that’s pretty amazing, that’s 33 percent”

hahahahahaha 3 in 9 years is 30 PERCENT !!!! the so “smart” woman is not even able calculate! her one and only ability is posing in FRONT of the mirror or cam.

  22. 22
    Hey stupid… Says:

@stupid *: Mr. or Mrs. Stupid….3 in 9 years is 33%. You might want to check your math before you make fun of someone else. I’ll make it easy for you, 3 divided by 9 equals .3333333 X 100 = about 33%.

  23. 23
    stupid * Says:

    10 Years AI = 100 %
    9 Years AI = 90 %

3 Superstars in American Idol that lasts 10 years
    means: 3 x 100% / 10 Years = 30 Percent!

    3 Superstars with 9 Years = 90%
    means: 3 x 90% / 9 = 30 Percent!

In this season they will never find another “superstar” without herself.
That is what she is working or doing “anything” for ;o)
maybe she heard her clever sentence by another man surrounding her. she copied this and used the words for one of her *look at me i´m so beautiful and smart* meaningless babble interviews. She only copies sentences an parrots this without knowing the meaning just
becauce it sounded smart in her ears. She definitely gots no cleverness. She only can do “anything” for the bosses making her famous. She is nothing special just a has been averagde young girl that slept with the right guys in the right time. Now years ago the milf thinks she doesn´t need to sleep with the important guys anymore … and that is the reason she will never be a “superstar” again and btw which important guy wants to sleep up a an old egomaniac milf like her when he can have every young girl in the world doing “anything” for him ;o)

    Susan Says:

You call this American Idol? I call it CRAP!! J Lo is the poor man’s Paula Abdul, and Steven Tyler looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie. They are in so much denial that this show can move on without Simon. The replacement judges and other desperate changes are nothing but a Band Aid applied to a mortal wound.

    kandis Says:

I agree with Frida.. Adam Lambert totally deserves to be on that superstar list!!!
