I thought it was hysterical. I liked it alot

  • Sean Hourigan

The actor who plays the head of the dance troupe made no effort to disguise the fact that he was reading cue cards. He didn’t even look at the other actors. He never turned away from the cue cards.

    SNL is not funny.

  • Beth

    desperate and NOT funny man.
    he seems manic
he is not talented I think
    just not shy
as Adam Sandler is not talented

I laughed at the end. Literally, the end where he’s looking in the camera. If he were the Natalie Portman character it probably would have been better.

Anyway, the sketch at the amusement park ride and the homeless band were the best ones.

Jim Carrey was an excellent host! He was the only thing that kept this episode from sucking horribly. Instead, it just sucked mildly. The writers are to blame for that, because they didn’t give him good material. I’d like to see Jim do more comedy stuff – he clearly still has it in him.

Wow people here are saying Jim is over the top, the guy has made a living to being over the top that’s what makes him funny. We had Jim, Farley, Sandler and Candy. You kids have what Miley Cyrus? now you compare one of them with todays “funny”

  • p

LMAO! I do believe he imprved the movie.

The best part was the last when Jim made the face. I want it for my fb profile pic, but can’t find it. It was 4 on the 5 scale 5 being the best. It had funny moments, but lots of the usual SNL dead spots. The new girl is UNFUNNY!

    He’s crazy!! He’s awesome! =)

  • country girl

That whole skit was awful, i didn’t even crack a smile, Carrey seems too eager, like a 5 yr. old wanting attention. It’s sad, he appears desperate and he tries way too hard. SNL has been less and less entertaining and last night was one of many disappointments.

  • Alison

I was laughing the entire time

  • snl fan

I was so excited about the 1st episode of the year, but I ended up very disapointed! I hope they make up for it next week. I didn’t laugh the whole time. Jim Carey did the old Jim Carey. He needs to find a way to transcend at this point in his career. As for the snl writers, come up with better material.

  • fighter

I laughed so much. They should make new Black Swan with Jim Carrey hahaha. it is really funny.

  • Renaldo Leonick

In 2010, Portman starred in the psychological thriller Black Swan. Her performance received critical praise and earned her a second Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, the BAFTA Award, the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award and the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2011.**”:
