Michelle Williams graces the cover of Marie Claire‘s February 2011 issue in a Valentino dress and a Tom Binns necklace.
The 32-year-old Blue Valentine actress shared with the mag how her pal Reese Witherspoon changed her perspective on life.
On Reese’s advice in a troubled time: “To give credit where credit is due, I was sharing a difficulty I was experiencing with Reese Witherspoon, and she said, ‘Yes, I understand, but think about how much more difficult this would be without the luxury of a reliable, steady income.”
On a changed perspective on life: “When things are difficult for me as a single parent, I always reflect on how much harder it would be if I didn’t have money—if I couldn’t afford a babysitter to go to yoga class or out to dinner with a girlfriend.”
Kate Winslet on Michelle: “From a distance, I feel as if I’ve actually been having a secret love affair with Michelle. She and I are quite intimate in my fantasy friendship, built on admiration and respect. I’m talking about her acting, of course!”

I just don’t get her. She’s an ok teen drama tv star who banged someone legitimate and she starts getting all of these great roles. I guess legitimate by association is the new casting couch.

Because Reese is a VERY annoying woman.
She really wants that Oscar, now doesn’t she. I like Michelle, very subtle, humble and real but she should widen her perspective. It’s too simple, yoga class and a drink with a girlfriend, common now, you know that’s a simple statement. She’s very heartfelt and expresses her gried very eloquently she she seems a little controlled by herself. She was the best performance in Dawscreek because she was a character who seemed more real to herself.

She is only 30, not 32. And that is a very superficial complaint but a normal one. What mom wouldn’t want time to herself to exercise and spend time with girlfriends? She is a beautiful actress and a talented one at that. She has done a lot more then Dawson’s Creek so give the women some credit.
I think that there is a small amount of Hollywood actresses who are focused on their craft and who are genuinely trying to make a good family life as well and its interesting to find out that they are actually friends.
Shes starting to sound so PR attention seeking right now…I guess she really wants that Oscar…it was also annoying how she blamed editing for her Dateline interview…come on Michelle…you want the Oscar, own it
Michelle is not a supermodel.
She could never photograph like Claudia Schiffer or Niki Taylor.
This photo of her is not appealing.
She has always tried so hard to take photos like the famous supermodels who still graced the magazine covers when Michelle started to get famous on Dawson’s Creek. All I got from her early photos was a conceited entitled teenage brat trying so hard to be sexy. This article proved just how greedy Michelle really is.

She looks so cute on the cover. And she is one of my fave actresses…will be looking for this issue.

Well does she have a point…being broke sucks and tends to make things a bit worse. Especially in tragic events when you are also dealing with emotional/psychological issues. I really hate to say that, but unfortunately we live in a capitalist world that is not too forgiving. So yeah, she’s lucky she is able to care for her daughter financially on her own which can be rare. Heck, she doesn’t really have to save for her daughter’s future college education…

Oh god, what did Michelle ever do to them to give her such an awkward cover? She deserves better than that.
I totally believe if she had sent Matilda back to New York when Heath was on break he would still be alive. She was supposed to come home in a few days anyway. I’m sure he would have been focused on her and not the medicine. She has been promiting this movie since January last year so yes the awards do seem very important to her. Don’t like her at all!

How are those comments annoying or stuckup?! They’re true, money might not make you happy but they sure do help. And isn’t it great that they both realize that, that they are very fortunate and that women who aren’t as lucky as them can have it a hell of a lot worse?

I think Michelle probably didn’t say what she meant in the right words…while money certainly isn’t everything and won’t heal any of your emotional issues, it sure as hell does help if you don’t have to spend your time worrying about how to pay your rent this week or your son’s school fees or your daughter’s doctor appointments etc….
Can’t stand her. She looks kind of creepy and I can’t watch her movies.
