Michael Douglas is Cancer Free

Michael Douglas is Cancer Free

After a “wild six-month ride,” Michael Douglas has beaten his stage four cancer.

The 66-year-old actor told Matt Lauer in a Today interview airing Tuesday (January 11) that while he’ll continue to keep tabs on his recovery, “the tumor is gone.”

Michael shared that he lost just over 30 pounds with his radiation and chemotherapy treatment and has gained about 12 back so far.

“All of a sudden the affection from my family, from my friends, and from my fans hit me at a much deeper level than I would have ever imagined before,” Michael said. “And it gave me a really new appreciation of just how valuable, how precious good friends are and family.”

Michael first announced that he would undergo treatment on a throat tumor back in August.

OMG this is such an amazing news and I so happy with this fantastic news.

I hate to be a downer, but it’s not gone. That’s the way Stage IV cancer works, it will pop up somewhere else. Cancer acts like a parasite. If diagnosed with any form of cancer at Stage IV, you are lucky to have 5 years.

with that young wiffe of his…It’s worth staying alive

I pray for him and his family that he is right and that it truly is all gone. Really pray it is so as Stage IV is hard to keep down forever, seems oftentimes it rears it’s ugly head and shows up again a bit later.

Love you Michael hope everything goes well for him and his family.

Excellent news!!!! I wish him many more years of good health!

you’re a disgusting idiot! I bet you had brain cancer, would explain your behaviour!

I have a question: why is Douglas’s wife still smoking the cancer sticks?

God is an amazing God! Congrats, Michael.

.
That’s what I thought when I read this. And, of course, you need to be “cancer free” for a number of years before ity is considered “cured.”
.
Frankly I thought this PR release was issued was to help him be insurable for future projects.
.
Hope it is true for the sake of his young children.

This is great news, I’m so happy for them. Specially, for the little ones. Kids need their father when growing up, more than any other time in their lives. For all of you out there who smoke, take note of the terrible consequences of that nasty habit. Throw out the cancer sticks NOW, it can take your life and cause suffering to your loved ones, not worth a puff.

I hate this *******

This is great news, but I unfortunately have too much family experience w this disease -. he’ll have to be EXTREMELY vigilant and adopt a super healthy diet packed with anti-oxidants, as well of course as regular testing from his doctor to make sure that this thing stays away.

Wish him and his family the very best xoxo

LOL @ Morons saying he faked cancer to get an “Oscar” how many Oscars for the same character does a man need? LOLZ It’s like saying Michael faked his death to get a Grammy for Thriller’s 25 anniversary CD again LOL.

Congratulations to him, I hope he stays cancer free, the first five years after doctors say are the most crucial, I wish him well.
