Jake Gyllenhaal goes for a jog along Mullholland Drive on Thursday (January 13) in Hollywood.
The 30-year-old actor reportedly called off his relationship with Taylor Swift “out of the blue.”
“[He] told her it wasn’t working out. Taylor is really upset and hurt. She doesn’t know what she did for him to put a stop to it. She feels really burned by him,” a source told Us Weekly.

I love Jake Gyllenhaal and I love Taylor Swift. I don’t think it’s really fair to place Jake as the bad guy. Taylor’s had relationship after relationship mostly with decent guys and yet they’ve all ended after about 3 months. They can’t all be the guy’s fault, you know? I don’t like saying that because I love Taytay, but I don’t see how else all these relationships don’t work out.
@thatgirl – usually I’d agree with you but I read somewhere that all the attention that came with this relationship and people disapproving of it because she’s young and all got to him, so he ended it. And for some reason I can see him doing that so I feel for her.

We truly don’t know anything about what happened or why. Except it’s over. Us Weekly has been caught lying many times. I have to agree with #5. People Magazine is more reliable, and they said they stopped since December 9th. Thats over a month ago! The first time they went out was the weekend of October 23rd, when Emma Stone hosted SNL, so it lasted less than 2 months. That’s not a “relationship.” IMO.
If she’s in Nashville, and he’s in L.A. or NYC, a phone call would not be that unusual. If it really happened that way. Everyone is joking about it. She should not broadcast her business and tell people so much. She’s probably more embarrassed than sad.

you are right. Even US Weekly said they only dated for 2 Months. That is NOT a relationship. But then Taylor Swift’s relationship haven’t lated longer than 2 months except for Joe Jonas which only lasted for 4 MONTHS. That’s not long at all but she acts like she world is over and then makes money off her ex-boyfriends pretending to be a victim of some epic love affair.
Anyone notice that other times he is photographed running his arms aren’t showing? But less than 24 hrs. after Taylor Swift releases a music video about missing her 18-year old exx-boyfriend with abds and arms of steel, Jakey Poo goes running with an sleeveless t-shirt to show everyone how fit he is even at age 30? I smell a publicist behind this staged picture. The same publicist behind the staged US Weekly photos with Taylor Swift.
Jake clearly had an episode of “pre mid-life-crisis”. Why else do you think he would be going with her. He wanted to get some 20 year-old poon. Did you all have grandeur thoughts that this was going to last? Also, just because he does a rom-com with Anne Hathaway doesn’t mean they’d make a great couple. I love being swept away by the movies, but also know the reality of movies and the actors themselves, not just their CHARACTERS. Just cause he’s hot and can make you fall in love on with him onscreen doesn’t make him any different than someone on the street.
I don’t see why anyone cares about Jake or Taylor, after all this time for such a small “affair” LOL!!
Jared, you just ran pictures of Sandra Bullock going to the airport for the Golden Globes, as a presenter, but you never said a word about Ryan Reynolds!
All the tabloids and gossip blogs are saying Sandra and Ryan are definitely more than friends and Scarlett is upset with her, but that stuff gets hushed up, yet you want to keep chewing over the same old, same old cr@p about Jake. He is a Golden Globe nominee this year. How come you only want to talk about Taylor,and that ended over a month ago, but not about Ryan and Sandra which is still supposedly going on.
All I’m saying is the Jake and Taylor “break up” keeps getting repeated and repeated. There is nothing new happening. They just keep running the same item over and over and over for almost two weeks now. It is very tiresome. This was maybe a two day story and they are milking it for mileage with nothing new to report.

She was probably already dating the guy she is with now and wanted to go public with it. She “broke up” with Jake and bam here is the new boyfriend. I think Taylor just loves the gays. She bearded for Taylor Lautner and that kid from Glee. Rachael Bison has even been linked with Jake and we all know she beards like Taylor. You really can connect the dots to whose gay and whose bearding. Jake is very sexy though. Gotta say that.

Regardless of who the person is, Jake should have broken up with Taylor in person. A phone call is heart breaking. Hopefully he gave an explanation. I was broken up by an email once. I was crushed. I really do hope Taylor and Jake stay friends. They were such a cute couple. It is sad that the media broke them up.
