Michelle Williams: BAFTA Tea Time!

Michelle Williams: BAFTA Tea Time!

Michelle Williams attends the BAFTA Los Angeles Awards Season Tea on Saturday (January 15) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles.

Bombay Sapphire was on hand to toast the 30-year-old actress, who met up with her Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance and The Kings Speech director Tom Hooper inside the bash.

Michelle recently dished on how she chooses her work and what attracts her to certain roles.

“I think when I respond to material, it’s because it’s above me. It’s smarter than I am. It’s talking about things I haven’t kind of figured out, and that’s why I want to go toward it, because it holds my attention for long enough,” she said.

“It’s the distance that I have to cross between myself and the character,” she added, “to something I don’t understand, and I’m working through that constantly.”

FYI: Michelle is wearing a Valentino dress with Fred Leighton jewelry and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Why would anyone cast her?
She’s not pretty nor energetic or charismatic.
Very few “actresses” nowadays can act, so at least cast someone who’s got a beautiful face and got some charisma and energy.

I totally agree.

Why do people like Martin Scorcese and Ang Lee keep hiring her?

And why does she keep getting Oscar consideration?

And why do people keep putting her on the cover of magazines?

Stupid world-renowned directors, casting directors, executive producers, and magazine editors. Stupid academy members for nominating her too.

If the business was run by messageboard posters like you and me, we would be so much better off. Oh well, ours is not a perfect world.

But we can dream.

Mimi@… Envious much? Envy is so ugly. Does your rancor shows threw your filipino pig face?

Feeling of shame, embarrassment, anxiety and depression over Katie’s career?

“bishop”! Your sarcasm is briliant! Your name hehehe!

This (mimi) is actually simonette, always bitter over the success of other actresses she “compares” to Katie.

I think Michelle is beautiful, talented, and classy. Thanks for featuring her, Jared!

I like Michelle. She proves that having charisma isn’t a pre-requisite for being a successful actress in Hollywood. Kristen Stewart is another actress that comes to mind. They are both well respected by the industry but are introverts.

“Why would anyone cast her?”
Because she is FANTASTIC actress and good person.
Unlike 98% Hollywood actresses and “actresses”.

I’m tired of seeing her everywhere. She really is trying to get nominated for that oscar. It won’t help her though, Natalie Portman will win.

Why does she dress so old??

she is one of the best actresses in hollywood today, & i love the way she doesn’t need to flaunt her personality around like other hollywood actor wannabes (jen aniston) wink, to compensate for their lack of talent. She doesn’t need charisma on the screen, because a lot of characters that she portrays don’t have charisma, so to portray them as such would falsey portray that particular character & compromise the intergrity of the script. She’s the perfect actor, she’s like a blank canvas. She’s a true artist, & is completely deserving of the accolades coming towards her!

@e:
I completely disagree with everything you said about Michelle.
I am not a fan of Jennifer Aniston but at least she earned her own
accolades and not from skipping her pill on purpose to become the
next Naomi Watts. I agree with the post that said Michelle was playing herself in Blue Valentine. I also agree with the posts by mimi and bishop.
