I love Matt Damon, also Robert De Niro…however…De Niro, you should have spoken from the heart instead of reading from a monitor, you sounded bitter at times, incoherent, and petty. …not funny or humbled.
Matt Damon gained weight for True Grit and I guess he hasn’t lost it all. Damon is an amazing chameleon – he has played such a huge variety of characters – True Grit that was yet another twist for him.
De Niro’s speech was a little out there, but what the heck, he can do what he wants at this point in his career!

Matt didn’t gain weight for True Grit. He didn’t, like, just end filming it. His weight gain has been recent. He’s really let himself go.
