Willow Smith: Working on 'Annie' Remake with Jay-Z?

Willow Smith may star in the big screen version of the popular musical Annie, Variety reports.

The 10-year-old pop phenom’s dad, Will Smith, “is exploring with Sony the potential” for the film, according to sources.

Will would produce the movie through his Overbrook Entertainment production company.

Though details are still in the beginning stages, rapper Jay-Z is reportedly also in talks to work on the music.

FYI: Will previously developed The Karate Kid starring Willow‘s older brother Jaden!

This will be pretty sucessful with the kiddies. The same people said Jaden would flop with Karate Kid, well he went on grossing 350 million WW.Will Smith is not a dumb man,he knows what he is doing.Even if you don’t agree with it,it’s not like your opinion matters anyway.Lol

yes. yes. yes. JUST YES!
the girl is talented for her age!

Sure some people say NO to this, but those same people said NO to Karate Kid remake and it would do terrible in the box office.Well not only did it open at #1,but it grossed over 350 Million WW.That’s huge for some little kid. Will Smith is not dumb, he knows what he is doing and they are gonna make some SERIOUS money off of this!

Gotta agree with Ashley! That is an absolutely awful idea. You don’t mess with a classic. I still pretend the newer one doesn’t exist. Besides why are the Smiths so desperate to push their kids into show business?

there are certain moves and such that should be left alone… 80′s movies and most musicals. they are perfect the way they are, the acting and quality of writing were perfect. hollywood needs new movie ideas instead of ruining the good stuff.

Oh, I thought Jay-Z was gonna play Daddy Warbucks.

WTF! I love Annie (the 80s movie version)! I don’t approve of this remake.
I’m sorry, but I don’t picture Willow with Red curly hair!

Oh, I thought Jay-Z was gonna play Daddy Warbucks

shes cute….. but a classic stays a classic
sorry sweetie, willow

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! !!!!!!!!!!! Will needs to keep his talentless kids away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! Jay-Z? Really?

Oh please. Are they going to give her curly red hair and freckles? Makes no sense. Why o people have to keep making remakes. Let’s produce some new original classics

I rather like this idea! As someone who suffers somewhat from ginger phobia I’ve always found the ginger-haired, sadly freckled kid in Annie difficult to watch and I never understood why the lead character had to be ginger-haired and freckled! Why not a dark-eyed, cheeky brunette? Or a sweet-faced cherubic blonde child? Why was an ugly ginger-haired mutant cast?
I would watch this if it is a ginger free film. It wouldn’t give me nightmares then about all those dead-eyed, ginger-haired, freckled zombie leprechaun kids!

Another spoiled Hollywood offspring is entitled to a big production movie role while a dozen people who laboriously trained and saved every penny to attend arts & theatre school will never seet Hollywood lights and make a decent living

They are trying to destory a classic play .

Brightside @ 01/20/2011 at 3:02 am

I agree…the part should be auditioned to many hopeful young talents who don’t have the advantage of celebrity parents. Just no ginger people. Ginger kids need not apply….any other colour welcome, though. They could even make a TV talent show about it…like the Lloyd Webber one ‘How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?’.

The reason why many people are using Plaque Attack is because it’s affordable, and it’s a natural formula designed to remove the harmful items floating around in a dog’s mouth.
