Chris Colfer & Darren Criss Cover 'Entertainment Weekly'

Darren Criss and Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer are all smiles on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue, on newsstands Friday (January 21)!

The Glee stars are featured in a special report about gay teens on TV.

“I think young gay people look at [Kurt and Blaine] both as role models,” Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy said, “and it means something to see their lives perhaps for the first time reflected on screen.”

“When we made the announcement that Kurt was getting a boyfriend, people went bats – - -, they were so excited,” Chris shared. “And then you add Darren, who is incredibly talented, and people are just jumping up and down.”

“It’s become less and less about the obvious frame of it, the young teen gay couple on the popular network show,” Darren said. “It’s more about just a favorite character having a love interest, which is awesome.”

Have you guys noticed how Darren Criss is such a fame WH**re.
The moment he went on the show and got press, the moment he started doing all these press stuff. He always likes to standout too. I can’t stand his pink wavers. There is no need to wear them to a upscale event like the Golden Globes. This kid rubs me the wrong way. I mean look at all the other stars you hardly see them fame whoring and they have been on the show much longer.

Enough with the Darren judging. It’s getting dull.

On a lighter note.

*SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON*

I love them more than any characters on TV at the moment.

I’m all swept up in the potential for romance and a drawn out courtship between the two of them.. With singing and dancing. Best pairing ever.

@jake:

I’m sorry you obviously don’t know anything about Darren Criss, but he’s been wearing those for ages. It would be disingenuous and famewh0ring to suddenly forget about his roots and lose his dorky charm.

Yeah, those sunglasses are part of the Starkid mechandise. He’s representing us fans.

So suck it?

darren has been doing shows before he got on glee. it’s just now blogs are discovering it and doing coverage. he’s had plenty of fans before this show made his “famous.” other than that, this isn’t the first time there were gay teen couples on t.v. before. EW makes it seem like glee started it all, uhh, no!

Hay hay hay ka simply amaazzing im not this boy oky

I think this is a great step for the gay community. They need role models and to be acknowledged too. I’m glad tv is finally realizing this. Maybe people will become less homophobic if they see more gay couples around. The world is changing for the better by accepting that it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round.

I just can’t get excited about a male-male relationship. I’m not anti gay…I support gays in the military and equal marriage rights for gays. But, I just can’t get excited about two guys ******** each other.

This is the year of the gays, though, so I guess we’ll be forced to see more and more of this. Sigh…

Dawson’s Creek did it better.

I just want to know if that Chris kid, a girl dressed as a boy, or a boy that sounds like a girl. what kind of freak is this?

Marshall on US of Tara is such a better “Gay Teen” character than Kurt and Blaine are. Mainly cause Marshall isn’t the creator’s self-insert like Kurt and not just a Marty Stu character like Blaine

Sick and tired of people moaning about how Kurt is not a good example because he’s a stereotype.
Stereotype doesn’t always have to be bad, and stereotypes are created for a reason.
Honestly I think its great that when Glee chose a gay character on the show, they chose a stereotype. Because all the BS the haters and dislikers point towards Kurt for being a stereotype, real gay people actually do get the worst of. Seeing Kurt fight against such harsh words must help them reach courage too.

@sillyme: Who is forcing you to ‘get excited’ about two guys having sex? Your comment is so unnecessary. ‘Year of the gays’? ‘Forced to see more of this’? You have a lovely imagination if two gay guys simply being on the cover disgusts you because you think of them having sex. What a typical insecure straight fool…

I’m gonna marry my dog..i have feelings too and so does it! It’s my right..

@jake
Darren Criss is definitely NOT a “fame WH**re”. He’s had his pink sunglasses for forever, and they’re his “lucky ones”, and he’s always very modest and just being himself. He hasn’t changed a bit (except his hair) since he STARTED getting famous. Mainly over youtube years ago.
He is the same wonderful person he’s always been.

This is great and all but UGLY BETTY DID IT FIRST. Ugly Betty showed the first teen gay kiss on television. Glee keeps copying ugly betty!
