Elizabeth Olsen: Sundance's Breakout Star!

Elizabeth Olsen: Sundance's Breakout Star!

Elizabeth Olsen hits the premiere of her movie Martha Marcy May Marlene during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival on Friday (January 21) at the Eccles Center Theatre in Park City, Utah.

The 21-year-old sister of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen has been earning rave reviews for her role in the drama thriller.

On Saturday, Elizabeth attended the film’s cocktail reception with co-star Sarah Palson and posed for some pics with director Sean Durkin.

Elizabeth also did a portrait session with her Silent House directors Laura Lau and Chris Kentis.

Up next for the actress, who’s also studying psychology at NYU: Red Lights with Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, and Cillian Murphy!

“I’m so lucky that school is always there for me when I take these little breaks,” Elizabeth told The Hollywood Reporter. “But my education is always a priority.”

I know it’s hard to believe, but yes, there is an Olsen sister that can actually act! Watched both films Elizabeth was in, she is AMAZING!!! She’s this year’s Sundance “it” girl! If tradition goes on, she’ll get an Oscar nomination next year, like the previous Sundance “it” girls, Jennifer Lawrence (2010) and Carey Mulligan (2009). I wish her the best!

plain. btw Olsen’s are so over, man. she needs to hire a stylist and probably do something with her face to go mainstream. as of now – just a plain girl you wouldn’t notice in the street. good to know there’s an Olsen who grew up as an actual real life relevant person, though.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

It’s obvious she’s taking advatage of her old twin sisters. Why do they always have to mention that she’s the sister of Ashley and Mary Kate? Does she still think that they were extra talented? They were just two twin girls who had a lot of luck because they took a liking to people. If she was a serious person she’d let people to measure her for her talent but she must be nothing our of this world.

Do you seriously think she WANTS to be called Ashley’s and Mary-Kate’s little sister? Hell no, of course not. She is a very talented actress who happens to be “the sister of”. She should be recognized for her own talent, not for her sisters’.

She’s prettier than her sisters, in my opinion. Most sibling celebs start out as being sister or brother of so and so sometimes, it’s up to her to make a name for herself, not just who she’s related to. And if she’s talented, more to her.

@nina: well she does look like a future Oscar winner, that’s for sure.

@Terry: with the last name OLSEN people are obviously going to speculate without her telling them they’re related. And she’s completely different from her sisters; at he age they mini moguls with their name on every product imaginable and they never did roles she is doing now.

    Miss M. Says:

Yes, and how is that her fault? It’s the media doing that. She’s lucky to already have so many media attention, but it’s too bad it’s at least partly because she’s the sister of.

    lala Says:

If you’ve ever had an older sister/brother that you lived in the shadow of, you would not say she was taking advantage of her sisters fame. It’s not a desirable thing, it’s quite the opposite.

i agree with your comment Terry. She believes that because she is their sister she will be accepted as an actress. Mary Kate and Ashley were never talented or pretty. Elizabeth is just like them. So are we all supposed to accept Elizabeth and buy into the same crap that her sisters pushed onto the public. Their worthless talent and products they endorsed? Elizabeth is plain and homely. I get a very strange vibe from her just like her mental case sister Mary Kate.
