  • em

I really wanted Andrew Garfield to get a supporting actor nod. : (

  • Audrey

I totally don’t understand why Burlesque was not nominated for Best Original Song..,.It won a Golden Globe in this category!!

  • http://J.net Kaz simply Amaazzing !!!!!!!!

    Leonardo DiCario best actor ever!

  • lilith

@sj: I think Ryan deserved it even moooore :((

  • http://A.com Sligo ^_^ cute

Where leonardo di caprio? Leo good actor

  • Bellas

So, Jesse Eisenberg is nominated but not Ryan Gosling or Paul Giamatti?

    That’s bogus.

  • Janinee

Really where is Ryan Gosling and Mila Kunis on here they both had brilliant performances way to go Academy on messing up another one

  • cathy

for heaven sake, why all the bloody brits nominated who carees bout KINGS SPEECH – WATCH OUT AMERICA THE BRITS ARE TAKING OVER UR TV MOVIES ETC – ANT THEY H A T E THE AMERICANS

  • Natalie Never

I’ve been wondering what kind of delusional nonsense speech Natalie Hershlag will come up if she wins….. well she’s already the winner!

  • Bellas

Jennifer Lawrence should win best actress but they’ll give it to over-hyped Portman, instead.

PS. Lawrence would make a strong Courtney Love in a biopic.

  • 12

    INCEPTION ALL THE WAY

  • deedith

no Andrew Garfield and Ryan Gosling! wtf?!!! You suck Oscars! Javier? really? urgh…
    but yay for Restrepo:)

  • carrusel

    This Jennifer Lawrence is new

  • sj

@lilith: agree!! I thought Ryan will be nominated, not Michelle.

  • carrusel

Colin Firth is the best actor of 2010!

  • moss

i hope inception will win best picture & best original screenplay

  • annie

Indeed Gosling is loudly missing from that list. Javier is a fantastic actor but in a foreign language film this year. Should he be considered for best actor nom when the film wasn’t english lang? Bit confused about those rules.

King’s speech worthy of all the noms it got. Great movie and outstanding performances.

  • umm

is this a joke? michelle williams aka jen lindley played herself in Blue valentine.

  • http://J.net Kaz simply Amaazzing !!!!!!!!

    Inception best

  • Mkhay

f that. Ryan Gosling definitely deserved a nom. and to be honest Social Network was not that good of a movie. It was just an okay movie, nothing revolutionary or anything.

  • Passing Gas

    Whaaaaat?

Nothing for Saint Angie in The Türdist?

  • moh123

i am happy for nicole kidman.

  • Imelda

People are overreacting much, aren’t they?
When it comes to Best Leading Actress I did expect all the above except Michelle Willams, I really thought Noomi Rapace was going to be nominated. I’m gonna freak out if Rooney Mara gets a nomination next year! Nothing will top Noomi’s performance.
Best Supporting were all very, very deserving. I’m so happy for Hailee Steinfeld. Such a bright future she has and an amazing performance, indeed.
Best Supporting Actor …well. I did think Andrew Garfield was going to be nominated and to be frank I thought he did better than Jesse Eisenberg.
Best Leading Actor. Very very deserving…well…Jesse was deserving but still think Andrew deserves Supporting as well.

Now , if people think that Mila Kunis was going to be nominated.
    Geesh!

And Natalie Portman’s performance was hands-down the best! I think people should see the movie one more time and actually focus on her performance and not the movie itself.
She put so much emotion to it, it’s crazy and I do predict she’ll be the winner.

  • ABC

Simple Simon didn’t get nominated. :(

  • Brigi

What the hell? The King’s Speech got 12 nominations, while Inception, which is the best movie ever, got only 8? C’mon! At least Di Caprio deserves the Best Actor nomination!

  • melody

    The King’s Speech= AMAZING!

  • dani

natalie portman realy need to win!

  • ModestMouse

Ok, I love Mark Ruffalo. A great, consistent actor. But a nomination over Andrew Garfield?! He was also a clear lead.

I’m kind of glad Mila Kunis got snubbed. The Supporting Actress category is strong.

I’m more happy for Michelle than I am sad for Ryan. He was great, but again, really strong competition in the Lead Actor category. Michelle deserves the Oscar, in my opinion. Harrowing performance.

  • Oscar’s blaH

nothing for Black Swan visual effects? XD
it’s the best of the movie
    http://www.lookfx.com/works.html

  • alice

Well obviously Portman has the win in her pocket… Kinda surprised that Jeff Bridges was nominated for Lead Actor….. BUT above all
Hailee Steinfeld got nominated, was scared she;d lose out on a nod cuz of the lead/supporting category drama, It’d be so amazing if she could walk away with it :)

  • ModestMouse

    @annie:
Of course there is no rule about that. Are you stupid? Marion Cotillard, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sophia Loren, Liv Ullmann to name a few…

All you people bashing Javier Bardem because he got nominated over Ryan…have you even seen Biutiful?! I know a lot of people hate Julia Roberts, but I am glad she helped get him a nomination. Good for her for not going by what everyone else was choosing.

  • Sheigh

COLIN FIRTH DESERVES TO WIN ! NO ONE ELSE CERTAINLY NOT JESSE SOCIAL NETWORK WHATEVER HIS NAME!

  • Sheigh

ONLY COLIN FIRTH DESERVES TO WIN THE OSCAR FOR BEST ACTOR CERTAINLY NOT JESSE THE SOCIAL WORK WHATEVER HIS NAME!
And for best actress price, I don’t want to see Mrs Hershlag win it but it’s so predictable, all people claim she’s the one for this year, but I really do prefer Annette Benning’s performance! Michelle Williams? Is it a pathetic damnage joke ?
I don’t understand too why Gosling is out of competion for best acting. I have an certain idea of it, there are 2 foreign actors out of 6, one more it’s really too much, we stay in USA ans it’s the same thing for best supporting actor.

  • Delphic

@Imelda: Noomi wasn’t that good. I think it’s quite ridiculous that you’d be annoyed if Rooney were to get nominated because you haven’t even seen the film.

  • to cathy

    @ 01/25/2011 at 9:07 am

are you being stupid on purpose?

  • hahahahahaaa

boring nomination list. but why didn’t they nominate halle berry? Her performance in the film Frankie and Alice was wonderful. hhahaha.

  • to Mkhay

    @ 01/25/2011 at 9:25 am

i know three of the people who have voting privileges with the Academy. in other words, they get to vote on best picture, actor, actress, etc. etc. i asked what they thought of Blue Valentine after they each saw it. these three loved Michelle Williams; thought she was brilliant. however, ryan gosling, in their words was just alright.

  • Vida

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Toy Story 3 won best picture??

  • http://twitter.com/SaadGKhan saadGkhan

Where is Christopher Nolan as Best Directer? and Ryan Gosling as Best Actor? that’s not fair.. Damn Javier Bardham… Suckerrr

  • I n F a m o u s l y C o o L

Jesse Eisenberg definitely deserves the nomination. he was great in social network (which could easily win best picture).

  • sanjaya

what?! where’s Andrew garfield? he definitely deserved a nomination. he was really good in social network. It should have been him instead of Mark Ruffalo. Come ON!! I’ve seen TKAAR, and his acting wasn’t even that spectacular. Andrew garfield got robbed, but then again, we all know the winner is gonna be Christian Bale.

  • Imelda

    @Delphic
Well, obviously I haven’t seen the movie but it is quite a character to portray and this time around the movie has Scott Rudin as the producer and David Fincher as the director and such an amazing cast ensemble I think I’m not overreacting when I’m saying it is bound to be Oscar buzzed in the future. Just wait and see.
I still think Noomi did a great job and I’m holding on to my opinion.

  • DR

Le sigh. Where’s Nolan? And Mila Kunis?

  • laverdadduele

The Oscars have become absolutely useless. It’s just out of touch Hollywood patting themselves on the back. Makes me want to vomit.

I honestly don’t bother to watch the show anymore. I just said the hell with them years ago.

What’s even funnier is the reactions of the people who do watch it and take it seriously. How people get upset about a bunch of spoiled celebrities blowing each other is beyond me.

  • http://JustJared Katie

I am so Happy for Michelle Williams:) If she brings home the Oscar one day Sweet Matilda can put it next to her Daddys(Heath Ledger) Oscar:):):)

  • Jill

I’m glad Bardem got in over overrated ratface Gosling. Yay John Hawkes and booo Renner!
