OlderJames Franco Went To Poetry Class After Oscar Nomination
James Franco signs autographs before going into The Daily Show to tape an appearance on Tuesday (January 25) in New York City.
The 32-year-old actor told Jon Stewart that despite finding out he had been nominated for an Oscar for 127 Hours, he still went to his poetry class at Yale instead of taking the day off to celebrate!
“I wouldn’t want to push it!” James said. “I got the announcement, and then I went on the Today show, then I walked down the street and went into class.”
FYI: James is wearing a Gucci coat.

James is just adorable! I am so glad he is finally sort of “blossoming,” and getting recognized! He strikes me as someone who is very shy in personality, but he is getting more comfortable in himself as he gets older. He is so spontaneous and real.
Yes, definitely bohemian and everything else, #5. I agree. I’m glad he is making it cool to get education. People should never stop trying to learn something. It makes life way more interesting, and it causes you to look at stuff differently and understand it and appreciate stuff more. Some people think college is only if you want a good job, but taking classes for yourself is just as important.
He goes to Columbia/NYU, not Yale which is not down the street from the filming of the Today Show, in NYC. Regardless though, he’s super hot and smart – what could be better?

i dont find his “im studying” thing charming, he’s so pretentious he talks about it all the time and if you watched the oscar roundtable you’d see what a douche he actually said “i went to film school” in such a self important way as if that makes his words more important than the other actors, he’s not humble at all

wrong, he’s getting his phd at yale like he says in the interview. we see him all the time around campus, and i have several friends who have had classes with him. he’s also directing a show here with undergrads.
