James Franco & Nicole Kidman: Broadway's 'Sweet Bird of Youth'!

James Franco is set to star opposite Nicole Kidman in a Broadway production of Sweet Bird of Youth!

The 32-year-old actor would hit the stage in the David Cromer directed play next fall. Sweet Bird of Youth, written by Tennessee Williams, tells the story of an aging movie star and her gigolo paramour.

“Negotiations are underway, but both Franco and Kidman are fully committed,” Deadline reports.

I am a big fan of Nicoles.

Always has been.
BUT, she has done it all. And she has it all.
Seems to me with an infant and toddler and a husband with a major career, she should take some time off, like a year off, and be with her family.

Run James Run! So much for that family is her priority thing for Nic!

Great pairing! Nicole is royality and James is a hot tamale. F off, haters. Keith doesn’t want you.

@Go Ask Alice:

Sorry but there’s 2 things as an actor that allow for a steady regular schedule with no travel and that’s doing a sitcom or doing a play. Go Nicole! There’s nothing like Broadway. James Franco will be perfect. Check out the Newsweek Roundtable discussion with them.

James Franco, marry me! <3333

Kidman “royalty”? In your dreams.

A has-been who never was who married Cruise to further her career.

She’s no Debra Winger- who knows how to plumb her emotional depths to give a performance of depth and sincerity.

Kidman can’t act. Period. She “performs.”

I can’t stand James Franco and that idiot smile of his. He’s a piece of pretentious crap. I wouldn’t pay $10 to see him on stage.

Hey Frozoid @ 02/03/2011 at 1:11 am

A tip for ya…every time you use the word has-been to describe Nicole Kidman you give yourself away as a skeptic. Pathetic.

I agree. She should take some time off and take care of the new baby. She keeps saying that her family comes first and she is taking less of a load. Really? I am sure she will be doing 6 to 7 shows a week. Maybe it is just a short run.

She’s beautiful and Keith obviously adores her. Lucky lady. Her “work” is apparently very important to her. She would probably die of boredom if she were to give it up. Not exactly best for the kids, but with the amount of money she makes – they will be fine. It would be very hard to turn down that kind of income – no matter how much you already have.
