OlderLeighton Meester: 'Vanity Fair' Vixen
Leighton Meester films scenes for Gossip Girl with her costar Penn Badgley on Friday (February 4) in New York.
The 24-year-old actress is featured in the March 2011 issue of Vanity Fair as the “opener.”
Leighton talked about the comparisons between her character in Country Strong and the classic film All About Eve.
“She just wants to be close to her idol and be best friends,” Leighton said. “She never gets that. It’s sad. It’s an endearing thing about her that she’s not a total bitch—she does mean well.”

I just don’t understand these critical judgements and predictions of failure for Leighton Meester.She has the looks and talent to be a big star and I think her management team doesn’t do her justice when it comes to the parts she’s getting.The roommate doesn’t look horrible to me and I think she plays the part perfectly.It’s a horror movie and people need to lighten up and just see it for what it is and not expect some oscar winning blockbuster.I can’t wait to see it :)
@George W: i totally agree with u.. i mean, how many horror movies in the past year were actually good? i saw the new “Nightmare on Elm Street” and honestly, i thought it sucked.. they could have done so much better.. but its not the actors’ fault that the movie sucked.. the writing and story just wasnt good at all.. same with “The Roommate,” i’m pretty sure the acting was good but if the storyline sucks, then not even they can save it.. there’s only so much u can do
