Daniel Craig: 'Cowboys & Aliens' Super Bowl Spot!

Check out this Cowboys & Aliens ad set to air during the Super Bowl!

The film, out this summer, stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in a Jon Favreau directed blockbuster set in the Old West.

Here’s a quick rundown of the film: “1875. New Mexico Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.”

FYI: This spot will air during the Super Bowl today, so you can tune in to see it LIVE during the show.

@Johanna (Swedish Amazon):

ha ha ha, did she offer you a “happy ending’!!!!

Olivia Wilde is really gorgeous and sensual. 0.19 must be the scene that was reported in which she is nude in the film where she is naked in front of a bonfire in front of 500 Apache warriors.

# 5

BOOOOOORING!!

# 6

Favreau is campaigning this movie as he can. he thinks that putting more new scenes in trailer help and it seems he is desperate or what.
with C&A he has no chance against other blockbusters coming this summer. if he adds more scenes in trailer again so it goes wrong.

# 7

Is this a farce? I think so otherwise major downgrade for these actors.

# 8

trailer – too short, too little saying and even more BORING than before. I felt nothing when watching it. trailer said only this: Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, some shooting at nothing, Daniel jumped on a machine… that is all? Thanks.

I’m glad that Daniel Craig has been doing several American mainstream movies including Cowboys & Aliens, Dream House, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
instead of just doing James Bond or British films. I hope Harrison Ford does more dramas from now on and doesn’t pigeonhole himself as just an action star. I was pleased to see him in movies such as Crossing Over, Extraordinary Measures and Morning Glory.

Looks cool!! New twist on two old ideas. Putting aliens and cowboys together. I’ll see it!

Daniel is one good-looking man! ;)

Dan is fukingfantastic.
The movie looks great.
One new scene…ooooooo thanks. NOT.
Another thing I love about the man—he even knows how to ACT when jumping…he has a signature J-U-M-P.

and i love how he twirls his gun…makes me weak in the

oh yeah————————————————————————

nice of you to check in cheeky Brit,
and Good morning Fio!

OHMYGASH—-
I think i will gasp everytime he twirls his gun in the movie.

his gun
his gun
his gun

HIS TRIGGER FINGER!

Watch: Favreau’s Awesome ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Super Bowl TV Spot!
“What the hell… They’re coming back!” Oh hell yes! Universal has decided to sneak debut their Super Bowl TV spot for Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens online via a mention from @Jon_Favreau. We saw the first teaser trailer for Cowboys & Aliens – starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde – late last year, but this new TV spot is a HUGE step up. Lots more action, lots more aliens, this really looks fantastic, I’m very excited for it! This western-sci-fi mash-up also stars Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer & Clancy Brown. I would watch this for Olivia Wilde alone, but the alien fights look fun, too. Enjoy!
Craig plays Jake Lonergan, a stranger with no memory of his past who stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. But the town is soon invaded by aliens and Jake must pull together a posse comprised of former opponents to combat these extraterrestrials. In addition to Daniel Craig, Cowboys & Aliens also stars Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Noah Ringer, Clancy Brown and the legendary Harrison Ford as Col. Dolarhyde. Jon Favreau is directing this adaptation from a screenplay co-written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci & Damon Lindelof. Universal is bringing Cowboys & Aliens in only 2D to theaters on July 29th, 2011 this summer.

‘Cowboys & Aliens’: New trailer jumps gun on Super Bowl movie ad rivals

Jon Favreau is the fastest gun in the West — at least in terms of getting his Super Bowl movie spot out there.

The director of Iron Man and Iron Man 2 created his own pre-game show by blasting a 30-second spot for his upcoming Cowboys and Aliens to his 900,000-plus Twitter following. Cost = nothing, versus the estimated $3 million for that block of time while the Steelers are battling the Packers.

The new clip doesn’t yet feature any aliens, but it shows Daniel Craig leaping onto a sleek extra-terrestrial hovercraft with what seems to be 10 wings, and Harrison Ford saying, “‘da hell?” as who-knows-what descends to blow the heck out of the Old West. No little green men — yet — but more detail on the alien craft, and there is still a lot to reveal before the July 29 debut. Watch it below.

‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Super Bowl Spot Features Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig
‘Hopefully it will leave you wanting more,’ film’s writer/producer Bob Orci says.
With a healthy amount of folks tuning in to watch the Super Bowl as much for the TV commercials — if not more so — than the actual Packers vs. Steelers showdown, it’s no surprise that more and more movie studios use the Bowl to build buzz for their upcoming blockbusters. And they often spend up to $3 million for the privilege.

This year is no exception, with at least five movies getting the Super Bowl ad treatment. MTV News recently caught up with “Cowboys & Aliens” writer/producer Roberto Orci during a screening of the new “Transformers: Prime” animated series to get the scoop on the highly anticipated film’s new teaser.

“The problem with the Super Bowl spot is that it’s not enough. Literally 30 seconds,” Orci said. “You never realize how fast 30 seconds goes in your life until you’re trying to show everything you have of this movie. Especially when you start throwing people’s names in there,” he explained. “It’s Daniel Craig, I don’t know if you know him. Harrison Ford is in there too — he was in a bunch of movies back in the day,” Orci joked.

“For most people, this Super Bowl spot is going to be the first time they see what we’re up to with ‘Cowboys & Aliens,’ and I think the title can lead you to believe, actually like with ‘Transformers,’ [which Orci co-wrote] when the first movie was going to come out, it was always like ‘Is it a cartoon? Is it a joke? What is it?’ And it’s not until you start seeing the materials that you realize, ‘Oh wow, they’re really positing what would happen if aliens landed in the Old West,’ ” he said. “What happens if you’re in the middle of this genuine Western and all of the sudden this other genre intervenes?”

Orci went on to say that what sets “Cowboys & Aliens,” opening July 29, apart from other summer fare is that it is a totally original story.

“You’re going to see from the Super Bowl spots, this summer there are going to be a lot of superhero movies, a lot of sequels, many of which I want to see, but this is going to be one of the few truly original franchises out there,” he said. “We couldn’t believe the people we got in front of the camera and behind. We’ve got Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Steven Spielberg producing, we’ve got Jon Favreau directing the thing, and even outside of Harrison Ford, it’s Paul Dano, it’s Sam Rockwell.”

Orci also elaborated on the fact that Westerns are known for even the smallest cameos being populated by amazing actors, and that they were blown away by the amazing actors who started coming out of the woodwork to be a part of the film.

“You don’t even see them all in 30 seconds — we don’t have enough time — so hopefully it will leave you wanting more.”

Superbowl 2011 Trailers: Full Cowboys & Aliens Teaser Brings the Yee-Haw Action!
What do you get when you mix Iron Man, Indiana Jones, James Bond, and some hot Tron action all together? You get Cowboys & Aliens, the upcoming adaptation by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), and stars Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, and Olivia Wilde in one big pile of science-fiction vs. old west action. Frankly, there’s nothing about this that makes me NOT want to see it, and the first ‘real’ look, via the Superbowl ad above, only confirms it.

Honestly, this could be the epic cowboy sci-fi movie that Wild, Wild West never was, that that’s just fine with me. Cowboys & Aliens invades your wild, wild west everywhere on July 29th. Yee-haw!

Awesome Video: The Superbowl trailer for ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ arrives, rocks

Yes, the new Cowboys and Aliens trailer is here. Yes, it just aired at the Superbowl. That’s all you need to know to watch the latest trailer, but we’re going to go on and on about it for four paragraphs, anyway, because what’s a new trailer without a little unnecessary commentary? Read on for the new Cowboys and Aliens trailer (and our thoughts), my gentle Examiner readers…

So, by now you’ve probably already decided whether or not you’re going to “go along with” what director Jon Favreau’s cooked up with Cowboys and Aliens. When the project was first announced, we here at Comedy Examiner HQ– a geek-friendly den of iniquity if there ever was one– were thrilled, and happy to see Favreau moving away from the already-kinda-stale Iron Man franchise (let’s face it: that second one just wasn’t all that great). We kinda assumed everyone would be onboard, to be quite frank.

Then we noticed people laughing at the film–particularly that teaser trailer that arrived late last year– in theaters. “Cowboys and Aliens?”, these people would groan. “Is Hollywood completely out of ideas?!” (yes, we literally heard these words escape someone’s mouth…and at the Alamo Drafthouse of all places, a place where a film like Cowboys and Aliens oughtta be setting the audience aflame with anticipation). It’s a lame-ass attitude to have towards the film– especially given Favreau’s track-record– but as the success of the Transformers franchise has shown us, there’s no accounting for taste in America.

Now there’s a brand-new trailer, delivered especially for the Superbowl. Are people going to react more favorably to the film now that we’ve seen the alien spacecrafts that the teaser trailer only hinted at? If people are willing to buy Twilight, I don’t see why cowboys fighting aliens oughtta be such a stretch. Besides, the new trailer makes Cowboys and Aliens look like a helluva lotta fun. A few spoil-sports might not be down with your new film, Favs, but we’re supporting you all the way here at Comedy Examiner HQ.

Hit the video box on the left to see the brand-new Cowboys and Aliens trailer, you Superbowl-crazed precious snowflakes, you.
