Lady Gaga Covers 'Vogue' March 2011

Lady Gaga graces the cover of Vogue‘s March 2011 issue.

Here is what the 24-year-old pop phenom had to share with the magazine:

On being musical as a kid: “I was a strange, loud little kid who could sit at the piano and kill a Beethoven piece.”

On how she views herself as a performer: “Speaking purely from a musical standpoint, I think I am a great performer. I am a talented entertainer. I consider myself to have one of the greatest voices in the industry. I consider myself to be one of the greatest songwriters. I wouldn’t say that I am one of the greatest dancers, but I am really quite good at what I do. I think it’s OK to be confident in yourself.”

On her ‘little monsters’: “I see myself in them. I was this really bad, rebellious misfit of a person—I still am—sneaking out, going to clubs, drugs, alcohol, older men, younger men. You imagine it, I did it. I was just a bad kid. And I look at them, and every show there’s a little more eyeliner, a little more freedom, and a little more ‘I don’t give a f–k about the bullies at my school.’ For some reason, the fans didn’t become more Top 40. They become even more of this cult following. It’s very strange and exciting.”

On the instant gratification from fans: “Sometimes, being onstage is like having sex with my fans. They’re the only people on the planet who in an instant can make me just lose it.”

On her new album Born This Way: The seventeen-track CD will include such songs as “Hair,” “Bad Kids,” “Americano,” “Government Hooker,” and the second single “Judas.”

LMAO at her dig on Britney…but I thought she loved her and is her biggest fan?

    On her live performances:
“I am quite literally chest open, exposed, open-heart surgery every night on that stage, bleeding for my fans and my music. It’s so funny when people say ‘It’s amazing to see how hard you work.’ We’re supposed to work hard! I have the world at my fingertips. I am not going to saunter around the stage doing pelvic thrusts and lip-synching. That’s not at all why I am in this.”

Those are some fighting words for $hitney. GODGA is about to BRING IT!!!!!!!

She’s so ugly it hurts, inside and out.

The reason people dislike folk like the Kardashians, Paris Hilton, Rumer Willis etc is that they appear to have gotten fame/attention in exchange for NOTHING. May I suggest that this so-called “Lady Gaga” here is actually worse, since she has not only gotten mass attention/fame (which let’s face it, in this reality TV and Youtube age any crazy can have if they are hellbent enough on getting it) but she has gotten mass ADMIRATION for herself in exchange for NOTHING. This is an entirely different, and more dangerous ballgame. She is taking the admiration of her “little monsters” and giving them NOTHING in return. She’s an energy vampire.

  • citydude

@Annie: SO TRUE!!! We should all boicot her

  • lee328

I love Gaga’s music but I would not want to emulate her clothing style. Is it just me, but I don’t understand why Vogue would put her on the cover. I use to associate Vogue with style, taste, beauty and class with respect to clothes and fashion. Why is Vogue only featuring movie stars and rock stars? Why don’t they feature models who actually look great?????? No wonder the magazine’s circulation has dropped.

@Annie: Get off the this Gaga page and please don’t ever leave a dumb comment like that again. Gaga is giving her little monsters her greatness. I also love how Gaga is one by one taking down some of these lame popstars or so-called popstars. I knew a real talented super popstar would rise again and show us how its done. How in the world can you perform live and lip-sync an entire show, do stupid dance moves and your fans call you the Queen or Princess of Pop. I agree with Gaga, when she says, she sings live and works hard for her fans because that’s what she is suppose to do. Gaga reminds me of a young PRINCE. PRINCE THE SUPERSTAR SINGER. I blame Micheal Jackson and Madonna for these wack artist’s like Britney Spears, Justin Beaver, Justin Timberlake and so on. Both Micheal Jackson and Madonna took the easy route and Lipsynced when they performed 95% of the time. I also blame Micheal Jackson for these stupid titles. He and Elizabeth Taylor proclaimed himself King of Pop. No one gave Micheal Jackson that title. His career was tanking in the early 90′s and he always had a big head. I know who the TRUE KING is. Micheal Jackson knew too. Like PRINCE said back in 1993, THERE ARE NO KINGS ON THE EARTH ONLY PRINCES.

  • LOL

@VICTORIA: you must be sniffing coke like your idol lady xerox. she wouldnt exist without all the stars u mentioned cause she takes all their ideas and blends them together. especially Madonna who she imitates the most. and shes talking down pop stars lol hahaha rihanna katy brit etc are still hitting #1.

  • mario

oh wow…. i thought only her stans were delusional, but it seems she’s just as cookoo…. She truly think’s she’s the Messiah or something….

  • mario

Also, there’s a difference between high fashion and trying to get yourself noticed by wearing the craziest outfits…. GaGa fits the latter…

  • Annie

@VICTORIA – Girl, how about finding your own unique “greatness” rather than being up this person’s ass who will only take, take, take your energy instead of developing your own talent that could help others?

  • mickey

If someone says, “I feel I am good at what I do,” that’s confidence. Saying you are the greatest in an industry is obnoxious and completely arrogant. However, it will get her attention and that is really what she is all about anyway.

  • bae

She can add ‘not very pretty’ to her unimaginative, copied career

  • Geo

The best singers, writers, and performers don’t self proclaim it, at least not in the media. They let others give them that.

    poor gaga

Lady Gaga and Ethan Hurt in Paradise Island in December 2010 passionately kissing one another video just was removed from YouTube. Sensorship is alive and well. She is awesome. Mark Madoff’s best friend Ethan Hurt is an amazing artist/painter and musician (past) himself. but for God’s sake he’s 45 or so years old. handsome and a bod yes, but please!!!! I see him all the time in Tribeca and at art exhibits and galleries. Gaga will go down in history as one of the most influencial artists and fashion statements of the early 21st century.

  • Nyko

Dang she no wonder y she covers her face!

  • Jane Andersen

I think Lady Gaga is such a beautiful person. I am so glad that the press is leaving Lady Gaga and her lover NYC artist Ethan Hurt alone. I think it’s totally cool that they chose to remove their private time secret kiss in PI… He’s a hunk and He finds her beautiful… Who cares what others think? She’s a beautiful soul and they both donate extensively to charities around the World. Beauty is within and on the outside too. Maybe an older man has that wisdom… Some of the comments here are so negative and mean about Gaga… Gaga is a great musical talent. Gaga is a generous and beautiful young woman.

She needs to stop praising herself, it makes me sick.
