Willow Smith: Teen Vogue March 2011

Willow Smith whips her hair and poses for some new shots in the March 2011 issue of Teen Vogue.

Here’s what the 10-year-old superstar had to share:

On Justin Bieber: “Justin’s like my big brother. I don’t have a crush on him.”

On her interest in music: “I used to go on tour with my mom and dad and see what they were doing, and I’d tell them, ‘Oh, I wanna do that, I wanna do that.’”

On her personal style: “I wear anything I feel like. If I want to put on a pair of Converse with a pencil stuck through them, I will.”

On the success of ‘Whip My Hair’: “When I first put ['Whip My Hair'] out, everyone was like, ‘Willow, Willow, I love your song!’ And I was like, ‘Really?’ Whipping your hair means not being afraid to be yourself. If people don’t like you, then bunck them, you know?”

“Superstar”? Um really, Jared? This kid is obnoxious. I’m sorry but no 10 year old should be making records. Go to school, kid!

  • boston61

NEPOTISM!! The celebrities are just like Arab dictators with unfair door opening for THEIR spawn.

  • Thai

Pls stop posting news about this used and abused child. Only an idiot could say she’s talented or happy or that she’s a singer…

  • bubbaness

    Cannot STAND this kid.

  • so

    GROSS

  • MangerBouger

    LOL !

She talks like an adult. At her age, I was only worried about playing with my friends, going to school, being sometimes at logerheads with my parents because of my marks or my music lessons.
    Times have changed.

  • marc

    Why?

  • sillyme

Um, I thought Just Jared Jr was for stories like this.

  • JMO

What a little bratty snotty kid she is now. Good job parentals–your spawn will be making you grandparents very very soon.

Teen Vogue? Are you kidding me? IT’S TEEN VOGUE! KEYWORD: TEEN! I never knew being 10 was the new teen!!

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Willow, but the way kids are growing up these days… I mean, weren’t you like a fetus yesterday?

  • Barbara

I am repulsed by this child and the parents who thought it was a good idea to usher a 10-year old into the media world to be scrutinized and dissected.

  • http://Tj Sligo lambert ^__^ cute

    All color

  • In The Know

There is serious backroom industry backlash already going on over this kid that the public does not know about, and is common knowledge in town.

JJ should be “In The Know” on that. How about posting on that topic Jared?

  • rhonda

might just as well get them on the QUEER train early!

  • No, just no

So silly. This is a CHILD not a teen. She should be going to school and playing with Littlest Pet Shops with her friends after soccer practice.

  • Rocky

    @MangerBouger:

YOU KNOW IT! I only wanted to get my roller skates on, play jump rope with my friends and just hang out and have a good time. This little girl is in for a rude awakening, as her parents will be. She needs to be in school and learning about the ‘real’ world around her and not the ‘Hollywood’ world. Her parents should both be ashamed of themselves!!

  • hickory, dickory, dock

“Whipping your hair means not being afraid to be yourself. If people don’t like you, then bunck them, you know?” says a 10 year-old daughter of a Hollywood star… wtf???

  • Liz

    Yeah, okay.

  • mwannirs

let them be a kid and tell her about the importent things in a kidsworld not as an music- ore hollywoodstar!!! sorry is not funny anymore!!!!

    Aw..how, um, cute.

  • Naty

    MC Hammer style?! LOL
She should be in school learning something!

  • Shana

Will Smith’s kids are the most exploited Children in Hollywood. I saw the family on Oprah. Will and Jada talked about the business of having their kids performing and making movies, and how they have everything so planned and well organized, and perfectly under control. Everybody knows that Hollywood kids grow up with serious mental issues. I don’t know of a single kid in Hollywood that grew up to be a normal adult. Just take a look at Britney and Lyndsey Lohan.

  • Lillianne

Yeah, there’s something off about this kid. Come back in ten years and if you’re not smoking salvia or posing nude maybe I’ll change my mind.

  • anonymous

I guess if her parents were doctors and she said I want to do that they would purchase her a doctor’s degree and diploma, set up her office even bribe people to be her patients. Willow seem to be as cavalier as ever about what she is doing like a if she is entitled. If you don’t have the talent to sing or act it is going to come out sooner or later i can bet you Will and Jada is saying to themselves that will never happen we are going to make our child a succes if we have to die tring , well maybe they might have to do just that.

  • A

This girl is not 10….i’m a litlte jealous. wow

  • Pebbles

I was terribly bullied when in high school. The bullying was so bad that even though I have graduated from high school and college, I still have problems because of what I went through as a teen. For years I have been trying to get over being bullied, but to this day I have serious self esteem issues and insecurities. My point is, school isn’t all that. She is getting an education, she is being tutored. I wish that when I was young, I could have had the opportunities like her to have fun, travel and express my talent instead of suffering all those years in school. Willow seems like a happy girl. It’s better for her to have this great life, rather than go to school and probably get bullied and scarred for life. That is just my opinion though.

  • mikado

Why can’t we put a thumbs down on the article itself? This kid belongs to JJJr! I think I posted this already 4 or 5 times: she is a child, if she is so obsessed to keep searching the spotlights, please put her on the children corner then. I am not interested in her.

  • Iffy Miffy

@Pebbles: You got bullied so school isn’t all that?! Yes, we see what stellar logic you managed to acquire. And people are busting their backs to send their kids even to a local college but it ain’t all that really. Education, who needs it … hey the kid is 10 and can’t read properly – who cares? She can whip her hair back and worth – a fantastic job skill!

  • Shauna

“When I was little..” Wtf? What do you mean when you were little? Do have no idea that you’re still ten years old?

  • Kendra

TOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!! what have your kids done lately???? How does it feel to hate a kid??? Thats says it alll.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHHA….MISERABLE TRASH HATES A LITTLE GIRL.

  • LOL

What have they done to this girl??!

  • ava

This kid is so annoying, and not even cute, really how is a song that’s digitally produced, is barely her voice all of a sudden makes this kid a singer, and now according to reports a actor.
Anne an iconic character for at least 50 years is being remade with this no talent kid because her Dad thinks his kids are entitled to wealth and fame… beat it kid! I hope that movie bombs.

  • Pebbles

@Iffy Miffy: Why are you being mean to me? :( Education is important but you don’t have to be in the school environment to get an education is what I was saying. Willow is being tutored so she can read and write. She does not need to be in school where she can get bullied and scarred for life is what I am saying.

    HELLO LITTLE BLACK MILEY…

  • Nan

yuck! They put in in plain view: incest! that’s all this poor kid is about…. daddy’s little lover… eh daughter

  • emma

everyone needs to like calm down about her and her family? seriously there is really nothing wrong with this.. she is just mature for her age and she wants to fufill her dreams and she can be how ever the hell she wants to be. for me , she is like the next rhianna. Its teen vogue but this 10 year old has a maturedy level of a teen so deal with it :)
    i love you willow. <3

  • justsayin

i hate to be mean , but am i the only one that thinks these pics look like the fresh prince of bel air in drag….ewwww

  • Victoria

Why is she reading Eat, Pray, Love? I’m pretty sure that book is for women, not children.

  • rux

Wow. Seriously? The kid is obviously comfortable with being who she is and doing what she’s doing. If you didn’t know, it’s the new type of cool, and is what should be encouraged in all kids these days. She’s not being sexual, or saying her biggest dream is to become a pop icon. She’s just being her adorable self.

And stop b*tching about school and such, you don’t know if she is in fact in school, has private tutors, is a genius or a complete idiot (i kind of think she isn’t based on the way she talks and behaves, but hey, that’s just me ).

This is what we should be encouraging, not freakin’ Hannah Montana and high school musical.

    But hey, that’s just me.

  • littletough

@Kendra: I don’t think people here are hatin’ on the kid, it was the way her parents are handling her or rather, tryin to push her in the spotlight. They wanted the kid to experience the normal life without all the bashing from people.

@rux: what the heck is the difference between hannah montana and this kid? seriously? There’s nothing wrong with being confident. As I’ve said to Kendra, it’s the way she’s handling it.

  • ReaLy

I mean really people. I have two sets of twin girls 8 and 10. This is how young girls act now a days regardless of how “entitled” they are. They are more confident and obnoxious than I was at that age. But is all the negative comments necessary. Everyone is shouting she’s only 10 but you guys are talking about her like she’s an adult. Why don’t you guys grow up and if you don’t like her don’t watch her. The kids like her because they relate to her and want to be like her. Grown-ups please get a grip!!!

  • ReaLy

    Pebbles,
Don’t take heart to what ignorant people say. People who are unhappy in their own lives tend to bully others to make themselves feel better. Just enjoy you life to the best of your ability and let the past go. Wishing you all the best!

  • Lanie

    Two words: Personality Plus!!

    People are so critical….geez….(jealous?)

You can tell by the pics themselves she’s got a personality all her own — her dad is really funny and it looks like she picked up some of his humor – i wish her the best. Very cute!!

  • http://stealherstyle.net/ Linda

She’s adorable and her style is amazing.

  • http://dnica Looky

This girl is too cute and I love her spunk if i have a daughter as confident as Miss Willow here I’d breathing a sy of relief . I don’t want my girls to be playing with barbie dolls dreaming about marrying Ken it’s not the 1960s people!!! Bravo Willow bunck them indeed LOL!!!

  • Andrea

    @Iffy Miffy:

Who tell you she can’t read properly???? Jealousy. It’s an ugly UGLY thing.

And…I’m sure there were people telling Mr. Williams that his girls should spend less time hitting a ball over a net and more time playing with their friends.

I know that it’s a shock to some of you that children can struggle and sacrifice and work hard to achieve goals but to other people it is not an alien concept.
