Katharine McPhee: 'Smash' with Debra Messing!

Katharine McPhee has signed on to star in the NBC pilot Smash opposite Debra Messing!

The 26-year-old American Idol alum will act in the drama, which “revolves around a cross section of characters who come together to mount a Broadway musical inspired by silver screen icon Marilyn Monroe,” according to THR.

FYI: Katharine also acted in last year’s The Pink House, a pilot also over at NBC.
