Elisabetta Canalis: Not Having Kids with George Clooney

Elisabetta Canalis rocks three different dresses during the 61st Sanremo Song Festival on Friday (February 18) at the Ariston Theatre in San Remo, Italy.

The 32-year-old Italian actress hit the stage with Argentinian model Belen Rodriguez and chatted with Robert De Niro, who was promoting his new romantic comedy Manuale d’amore 3.

Elisabetta recently opened up about her relationship with George Clooney and revealed she doesn’t plan on having any kids with the 49-year-old actor.

“[Getting pregnant has] never been an objective for me. My maternal desires are fully satisfied with my dogs,” she told the Italian edition of Cosmopolitan (via People).

@st: Mi dispiace, ma io no sonno americana, o inglesa, o italiana, ma parlo inglese e italiano e tadesco (ecc…): dove è l’errore con Canalis que viva en USA, conclusione: canalis = silly.

I’m italian but …sorry …I don’t like Melissa Satta …in the interviews I saw she was always so full of herself. And, many say she’s done plastic surgery to her breast …and, in my opinion, she has no waist …she has a large, straight torso…not feminine at all !

    re video @ #99

I’ve developed a real girl crush on Belen Rodriguez. She is beautiful, professional, gracious, and has a very appealing natural ease about her. She dances well and sings too!

#107 That isn’t very kind, and Hannah is not being paid to speak Italian!

    st Says:

@Hot for Rodriguez: Canalis isn’t a professional interpreter.

    Hot for Rodriguez Says:

@st Excuse me, I meant no offense. I just wildly assume that Canalis was properly prepped and well-rehearsed before the interview in which she acted as a translator while Hannah is just casually posting here. IMO, you’re comparing apples to oranges; it is unkind to snipe at a fellow poster.

    st Says:

@Hot for Rodriguez: I meant absolutely no offense. Hannah and others were saying Canalis is silly because she doesn’t speak perfect English. Who is unkind?

I am Italian too and DON’T feel ashamed of Elisabetta Canalis at all. She is humble and amusing, she did some funny things on Italian TV, she is gifted with irony, she has NEVER boasted about her relationship with Clooney and she deserves applause for her sincere statement about not wanting kids. She is genuine and she has never said conformist things to play up to the public like MOST of your American celebs do. Finally, she “looks like a man” to the same degree as your comments are unbiased and clever .

    @fran: @hannah:

oh yeeees, and ”gentrified” is in fact one of the most widely known English words, isn’ it…
Apart from gentrifiy (only few sociologist – and De Niro- know that term) and some other forgivable syntactic mistakes, she did a nice job and De Niro could perfectly understand her.

rodriguez corrected canalis on a surname? AND SO WHAT? This doesn’t mean that rodriguez is a PhD, this only means that she (rodrigues) was far speedier to read on the autocue. Moreover a SURNAME IS A SURNAME, not a noun, not a verb, and it can easily be mispronunciated. By the way Rodriguez speaks an AWFUL iTALIAN, she’s got an accent, but nobody complains about it the same way they complain about canalis’ s English. And that was an ITALIAN tv show.

Her STDs are probably what preclude her from having kids. And in order to have George’s kids, she’d have to actually be sleeping with him, which she’s not.

Rodriguez speaks extremely good Italian, surprising if you think that she has been living in Italy for 1 year. She’s got an accent which, by the way, is very charming, but she speaks fluently and correctly (good grammar, rich vocabulary). That’s why nobody complains about it. Everybody understands what she says.
The same, I fear, can’t be said for Canalis, whose English is simply embarrassing (read my post above, the one about the interview, if you want a more detailed explanation on her linguistic skills). I judge merely from a linguistic point of view and I’m entitled to do it, I’m bilingual and I’ve got a PhD (you say Rodriguez hasn’t, but I have) in English language/literature/history.
In any case, I’m a very liberal person and I strongly believe in “freedom of opinion”. Moreover, you can’t argue about taste – you may find Canalis or whoever beautiful or ugly, “a horse-faced and short-legged anorexic monkey” (this is not mine, I confess, I read it somewhere) or a sexy and gorgeous siren, but FACTS are FACTS!
She can’t speak English (despite declaring that she speaks perfectly) and, judging from her performances (acting, dancing, interviewing or whatever), that’s not the only thing she can’t do.
Se non capisci ti traduco tutto in italiano.
