Leah Lewis & Luke Benward: Disney's 'Madison High' Leads

Leah Lewis and Luke Benward have landed the lead roles in Disney’s new pilot Madison High, a show with a special connection to the High School Musical series!

The show will feature HSM‘s beloved Ms. Darbus (Alyson Reed), who will transfer from East to Madison High to build a revolutionary theatre program. She casts a diverse troupe of both seasoned and raw actors to create an original musical production based on their lives.

Luke, 15, will play Devin Daniels, a motocross racer looking for a new hobby and Leah, 14, will be playing Peyton Hall, a formerly home-schooled tennis champion.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of the lead actors for Madison High?

I think they’re trying to milk HSM’s success way too much… any Disney fan would know that spin-offs and sequels rarely work (The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Pocahontas and Beauty and the Beast are among many that should have been left UNTOUCHED!)… also, an all-American-looking boy and a girl with exotic, foreign beauty, again? They are trying way too hard…

Hmmm…..I think they’re trying a BIT too hard to channel HSM. Dark haired Asian beauty and blue-eyed all-American looking boy.

I think that they are trying to become another High School MUsical. I mean you have a guy Luke who is a sports figure in the fact that he is a motocross racer, just like Troy was a basketball player. Then you have Leah a pretty dark haired girl who is homeschool, and although Gabriella was not homeschooled she was moved from schools to schools.
So I think Disney is trying to recapture the hype and popularity of High School Muscial with bringing this new high school show on. But who knows. as much as I love Zac and Vanessa, these two just may be the next golden couple of disney.
But I do agree, they should be on JJj

unlike most people that commenting on this ,i actually like it , i will be looking forward to it , if it actually comes out. i’m happy about the idea of having new actors because there’s always the same people playing in movies. this could be good who knows and i miss luke benward’s “how to eat fried worms” it was pretty funny and he’s cute , and leah lewis is gorgeous . and if they do end up going out in the movie well they will make a good couple :)
