The whole design is the most frightening thing I’ve ever seen on the red carpet ever! That bold circle and the sleeves look almost alien like. What was she thinking? Maybe she was trying to send a subliminal text message with a big 0? :(
I know she likes edgy looks and all but the dress would have looked soooo much better without that circle thing, like a fairy or a romantic elf princess. So I like it from the waist down…

What was Cate thinking…I kept looking at that circle and I thought “Where is the missing victorian Silouette cutout?” She is still a beautiful lady, however.
Interesting choice but because it’s Cate Blanchett she can get away with it. She is so beautiful and talented. And she was very cute and funny when she presented.

I love Cate and always find her beautiful and appreciate the fact that she is fashion forward and doesn’t always play it safe and boring, but in this awful dress she seems to be chanelling Tilda Swinton and the weirdo avant garde outfits she wears.
I seen no redeming factors: the main color washes her out and the beading (which lookslike bubble wrap) on the back is baby-poop green. Ugh- what was she thinking! This is a complete 180 from the beautiful pale lemon Dior gown she wore in 2005 or the classy body-hugging gunmetal Armani she wore in 2007!
