    I’m actually pretty content with the winners.

  • moi

    perhaps now natalie portman can get over herself.

  • Gem

    With the exception of Natalie Portman I am pretty happy with the winners.

  • Mary

    The best thing is The King’s Speech over TSN.

    The closing segment with the kids singing and the all winners is the BEST!

  • Helena

    Inception got 4 oscars yey!
    I wonder if the Oscar Curse will follow Natalie too…

  • Cristobal

    Congrats, Natalie

    I did jump off the sofa +________+
    I feel sooo happy for her
    she was wonderful on the movie
    <3

    Ps: James and Anne H. made a GREAT job
    she’s so cute and nice
    and James….I was breathless each time I saw him hahahaha….

  • hannah pie

    the closing segment was weird.
    i liked all the winners coming out, but not the kids singing.
    that was way cheesey.

  • ajh

    Social Network was robbed.

  • katie-elle

    @moi: hahaha! :D

  • alice

    she deserve it:)

  • Dee

    The Queen has arrived and collected her award:)

  • the doctor

    @the doctor:
    nevermind, natalie portman shouldn’t have won

  • mailey

    (((christiannn))
    :)

  • JC

    Too predictable and the hosts were terrible. Congrats to Portman but I’m disappointed Winter’s Bone left empty handed. You’ll be back Jennifer Lawrence. You’re a total sweetheart and were just as good as Portman in your movie if not better.

  • abt ballerina

    So beautiful a Batman.
    Great guy.
    Chaina hooray . Israel hooray.

    natalie, Batman. My heartiest congratulations.

  • kim

    i def liked that the hosting/jokes wasnt mean-spirited like how ricky gervais did it.
    and i agree, james & anne did a nice job.
    liked the more positive vibe.

  • Solange

    it was totally predictable that natalie portman and colin firth would win and i’m totally okay with that.

  • Nats

    @ajh: I think it is only fair to say social network was robbed if you saw every movie that was nominated against it.

  • Blake

    anne hathaway was such a natural

  • yah firth

    firth has such a good sense of humor, timing, and he’s always gracious. good guy.
    and same with bale, always thanking and downright promoting the real guy he portrayed.

  • villedeville

    Worst 2011 Oscars acceptance speeches:

    1. Melisa Leo – Best Supporting Actress
    2. Natalie Portman – Best Actress

  • DANI

    THAT’S TRUE JC, TOO PREDICTIBLE….. GOOD FOR NATALIE AND COLIN, BUT I THINK INCEPTION WAS THE BEST FILM OF THE YEAR!
    HOWEVER I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE ACADEMY DOESN’T LIKE LEO DICAPRIO OR ANYTHING RELATED TO HIM!

  • ajh

    @Nats: I did!

  • yesss, bale!!!

    @DANI: i felt that way about christian for a long time.. like he was doing such amazing work and was never nominated. so im so happy that he won finally!
    so yah leo def deserves it too so hopefully he will get his one day SOON! :)
    and same for ryan gosling!

  • Super Cool

    i’m so happy that she won! she deserved it!

  • RachelSun

    The King’s Speech is an overgloryfied, PBS movie to soon be forgotten. The Academy Awards are na out of date joke.

  • Chip

    Have you heard Natalie’s speech. It was awesome. She even thanked people who are often forgotten. And she thanked her mentors. She deserved it. I’m happy too that inception got the most awards along with the Best Pic winner. Hosting was good. James Franco sometimes seemed disinterested. But as I look back, he balances Anne’s quirkiness. Love Anne! Hope she hosts again with Billy Crystal. And a running gag would be like last year Anne had a hottie and now settles for an oldie (but great).

  • DANI

    @yesss, bale!!!:

    YESSS!! CHRISTIAN DESERVED THAT AWARD!! I’M HAPPY FOR HIM!
    AND YES AGAIN, RYAN GOSLING WAS ROBBED, HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A NOMINATION! HE WAS SOOO AMAZING IN BLUE VALENTINE!! KISSES FROM ARGENTINA!

  • danielle

    @ajh:

    I saw all ten films and Social Network didn’t even deserve to be nominated.

  • http://j cf10

    the social network is the winner for me

  • Chip

    Worst speech was Melissa Leo’s. She won’t win another Oscar for sure with her annoying and overdramatic pre speech, speech and post speech moment (yes even the finale moment). Actually, she should have lost to Hailee with those campaigning. Meryl will smack her. Natalie’s was not bad. I hate speeches that are over dramatic with cheesy lines, life lessons etc. I also don’t like a long list of names. But in Natalie’s case she actually thanked people who are a part of the productin but never recognized in any way. And she thanked past directors (save for Lucas) that have defined her career.

  • Lucila

    I really like the show and I think all of them deserved their prices! That’s why they won! I really enjoy James and Anne, very funny! Anyway I find it really strange why Harry Potter never won any Oscar, because I think they’re good movies with good visual effects, good actors, actresses and a very good screenplay and cinamatography.. that’s what I was thinking… It doesn’t mean I’m angry or dissapointed, I was just wondering.. I didn’t mean to offence anybody..

  • Chip

    The Social Network was good. But for me, Inception and Toy Story are better. I would add Black Swan but the plot is a bit thin but well executed. 127 Hours was good too. The Social Network was not a runaway best picture. So I think it was not robbed at all. But I think Fincher or Aronofsky or Nolan was robbed for directing. Happy that Alice won a couple.

  • Chip

    @Lucila: HP’s visual effects has always been not that strong sompared to other visual effects heavy films. Although I would agree with cinematography. Especially with Azkaban.

  • Karmen

    @moi: hearted

  • abc

    so glad this is over, sick of all these movies, waiting for something worth my money to go and see, they dont make them like they used to, Robert Deniro, Al Pcino… would love to see them in a movie soon, i think annette benning should have won!….what the h-ll did NATALIE PORTMAN do to win this award? put on a TUTU and cry………..pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssseeesaw the movie only good thing about Black SWAN was looking at how gorgeous MILA KUNIS is thank god its over!

  • afarin

    I’m just happy The Social Network didn’t win best movie. I think King’s Speech deserved it

    Also, I don’t know what everyone’s problem is with Natalie Portman, but she was great in Black Swan and deserved it. Who cares if you didn’t like her acceptance speech? Don’t get your panties in a bunch for something so stupid and insignificant

    Also Colin Firth deserved best actor

    The only thing that stood out as terrible was Anne Hathaway’s annoying attempt at being an entertaining host, which was just a fail all around

  • mary`

    JC @ 02/27/2011 at 11:48 pm

    the best part of the oscars is that winter’s bone did not win anything. it is possibly the worst film of the year. i cannot believe that Jennifer Lawrence was even nominated over Julianne Moore.

  • lucy

    please God! never let Anne Hathaway host again at the Oscars. she was TERRIBLE. at least they managed to save the show by bringing back Billy Crystal.

  • lola

    Thanks God, King Speech won the best picture.

    I saw Social Network, , I don’t know why was it even nominated. sooooooo boring film, and it was supposed to be competing neck to neck with KS ? , Black swan , Kids are alright, Inception are much better than it. If King’s Speech was no.1, then no.2 is Inception and Black swan no.3.

    And Tom Hooper deserve the best director award. Congrat !

  • JerseyGirl

    Annette Bening was robbed.

  • Gem

    These are all a matter of personal taste and no one is wrong in their opinions. But I think we can all agree that Melissa Leo sounded like an idiot. Right? And I preferred Jennifer Lawrence over NP. But I don’t think there were any nominations that were undeserved. And I saw all ten movies and enjoyed them all in some way or another.

  • Spinnaker

    Such a boring show. The Oscar commitee sure is predictable.

  • lovelydee

    Congrats to all the winners.

  • Love4SAMCRO

    Ah! I’m extremely happy for Nat! It’s really incredible when an actress whom you’ve practically grown with and admired since day one takes it home! It brought me to tears :) I mean, her work with Besson and Nichols was extraordinary, but seeing her in her most prominent role to date in Black Swan… you totally knew she deserved to be rewarded! Nat’s gotten a lot of recognition for the most work she’s done thus far, and as a fan it’s the most excited I’ve ever been for her! ‘Can’t wait for the years to come :)

    On a side note: Congrats to Aaron Sorkin!! Such a talented guy!

  • LMAO

    I just wanna know WTF Franco was trying to prove on stage? Or was he just nervous or what? He might as well have been a cardboard cutout for all the charisma he contributed to the show. Hey Academy, get someone who can actually host why dontcha?

  • Mel

    @Gem:

    Couldn’t agree more!

  • Orion

    Inception should have been nominated for best picture and should have won. It was the best movie in 2010 so far and my favourite. It was so original and interesting. Christopher Nolan does always very good job, but never gets recognized.

  • Thai

    Zionists and Jews all over the world rejoice, ur talentless puppet won – it was damm predictable, wasnt it? I’ll go to vomit…
