Christina Aguilera Joins 'The Voice' As Coach/Judge

Christina Aguilera has been confirmed as a coach/judge on NBC’s upcoming singing competition series, The Voice.

The 30-year-old singer and Burlesque star joins previously announced coaches/judges Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine.

“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Christina said in a statement (via EW). “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.”

The news comes after Christina‘s arrest for public intoxication early Tuesday morning (March 1) in West Hollywood was announced.

    Lola Says:

Nobody wants to see that fat low life drunk middle aged neglecting mother on a two-bit reality show ……
    She is a DISGUSTING pig

    Michelle Says:

She has a lot of talent but she desperately needs help with her problems. She has a young son who should take priority before drinking in bars and running around the world with her bf.

This announcement is just PR to whitewash her latest drunk incident. And to those who say “its nothing” – drunkiness is not nothing, it signifies a person with deep problems.

…Hahahahaha …Another Fail. Didn’t we already have a drunk reality show judge before – Paula Abdul.
…Problem with people like Christina Aguilera is they don’t know when to quit. Everything she’s been doing has been a huge failure, yet she continues to embarrass herself.

christina sounds good for sure but i do not know if she is qualified to be teaching people how to sing..there is a lot of technique involved. people go to school for degrees to teach music and vocals…
i know the show wants to make money and it will draw more attention with her as opposed to some random professional vocal coach .
i am not trying to put her down but technically speaking she does not really sing properly.. she is a belter/screamer which isn’t good technique to teach newcomers . if you are on this show or planning to audition you can google anything about vocal instruction and how to sing properly online for free . it is not something that will happen over night but if you already have a good voice you should really train your vocals properly so you won’t strain or run into problems in the future. it is a muscle and just like lifting weights and exercising you need to exercise your chords!
a lot of celebrities work with brett manning who is overpriced but has a lot of good videos for training purposes. if you can’t afford a local instructor use the internet! good luck to all the contestants

Don’t get too excited over the three of them. You have one that had shows canceled to do this, leaving so many in the lurch or having to wait to see when their shows will be re-scheduled.

Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t but I’m not going to get too excited over it until the actual format has been shown.
