Blake Lively: Chanel Mademoiselle Handbag Ad First Look!

Check out Blake Lively‘s ad campaign for Chanel‘s Mademoiselle handbag.

The pic, shot by the French fashion house’s head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld, features the 23-year-old actress with a red Chanel bag.

“I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?” she told WWD. “I want to bow down to them and be a representative for them if they’ll have me.”

i can see her do american brands: Calvin Klein, Michael Kors…etc. But she just doesn’t have the face for Chanel. It’s the same as Amanda Bynes or Hilary Duff being the face of Dior. Nice, pretty, gorgeous looking blonde women of which Lively is the sexiest and most beautiful. But not for Chanel. I couldn’t even see someone unique looking like Scarlett Johansson doing this campaign.

I have to admit it is very refreshing to have a normal person modeling for Chanel.

@MaisyRL: Hilary Duff is actually very beautiful. People don’t want to look past her teenybopper image but she is.

I think the ad turned out great, really love it. Although I don’t expect them to do a “sunny” style pic, I would love them to maybe do a shot that inhabits her bubbly personality. Netherless I love this and I’m excited to see the rest of the shots.

@T: I agree. She makes the bag seem like a knockoff. I really don’t think she’s right for Chanel.

seems like blake doesn’t suit Chanel much, she is a pretty blonde girl but too ordinary for this brand. cool mirror effect though.

    Hi.
As a french girl I’m a big fan of Chanel bags but I don’t think Blake Lively is the good model for this kind of campaign . I really like her as an actrice I think she is very beautiful, but she is not the reflection the the Parisian-Chic style. Chanel is a French company based in the Parisian style. It seems to me that someone embodying the style is more appropriate for Chanel.
But the campaign is very pretty, I love Blake.
    Regards.
