'Battle: Los Angeles' Tops Box Office

Battle: Los Angeles nabbed the top spot at this weekend’s box office, bringing in $39 million in ticket sales!

Rango took second place in a strong second week finish with $23 million, followed by Red Riding Hood with $14.1 million.

Fourth place was The Adjustment Bureau, with $12 million, and fifth place went to Mars Needs Moms with an unexpectedly low finish at $6.8 million.

Just missing the top five were Hall Pass and Beastly with $5.1 million and $5 million, respectively.

FYI: Deadline notes that Just Go With It, which finished in eighth place this weekend, is close to hitting the $100 million mark in cumulative box office sales.

I was one of the unfortunate ones to see Battle: LA. I think it’s one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Horrible acting, story, dialogue a complete waste of time. Very dumbed down…and a lot people loved it. Big surprise there. I want my $12 back. Should’ve listened to Roger Ebert. :/

    Sure :)

Seriously, I think it’s garbage! A handful walked out, but I waited, hoping it would get better, only it actually got worse! Just garbage, how stupid do these movie execs think we are? These movies should not be allowed, maybe straight to DVD, MAYBE. I warn you, don’t watch you’ll be sorry and stupider for having sat though it. Just read Roger Ebert’s review: It pretty much sums up how I feel.

I liked Battle Los Angeles. I think most people (including myself) went to see it for the action and special effects.

I saw it, it was pretty bad. I sighed several times throughout the movie b/c I just wanted it to end! As Ebert said (his video review of it is pretty funny), it’s like watching a really bad video game, one that you can’t play in. I laughed at that comment b/c that’s exactly what I was thinking while watching it, this looks like a video game!

Wow – yet another giant fail for Matt Damon and the Ajust the Crap Bureau!

  • Hannah

I enjoyed the action and special effects in Battle. I really like Aaron and he was on spot. I haven’t seen Adjust Bureau is it good?

Are we alone in this universe or are there some other species as well? This always has been a question of debate among humans. And this is 2011, the time when all doubts seem to be cleared as earth is under attack of forces from sky.
