Anna Faris: 'I Was the Awkward Kid'
Anna Faris pushes her hair back in a spread for the latest issue of Corduroy Magazine.
Here’s what the 34-year-old Take Me Home Tonight actress had to share:
On her childhood: “I was the awkward kid who was short and had braces and looked like I was perpetually 8 years old. I hated when people laughed at me.”
On the best advice she’s received: “Keenen Ivory Wayans once told me that ‘There is no vanity in comedy.’ When I immerse myself into a character, I really just try to have fun and not judge them. If people think I’m an idiot or a stupid person in real life, then so be it. That’s okay.”
On doing comedy versus drama: “I don’t want to embrace the idea that comedy is somehow easier or less respectable than drama. There are a lot of bad comedies but there are also a lot of bad dramas.”
On finding joy in her work: “I like that I get to make products that are enjoyed by a lot of people and aren’t particularly pretentious. I love that I can use my work to make people happy.”
