Gerard Butler Takes Flight at LAX

Gerard Butler Takes Flight at LAX

Gerard Butler grins as he arrives at LAX airport on Sunday (March 13) to catch a flight out of town.

The 41-year-old Scottish stud was in a great mood as he arrived at the airport, chatting and laughing with TSA employees as he went through security.

On Saturday, Gerry was spotted going out to lunch at L.A.’s Alcove Cafe.

Late last week, Gerry worked up a sweat at a local gym.

FYI: Gerard is wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo black leather bomber jacket and J Brand “Kane” slim straight leg jeans in Boone.

    And what are you good for? Bad mouthing people behind your computer screen? Beware: the first successful libel action ended in someone just like you being faced with £53,000 compensation/costs to pay in the UK last week.

    People are starting to bite back at those who defame character and post libel on sites like JJ.

    This may post twice due to site issues, but given the subject matter that maybe isn’t a bad thing.

    I have a REAL job in the REAL world. Ur defending him but he thinks ( read KNOWS) he is better than regular people, including everyone on the board and he is laughing not getting insulted cause he knows he gets over like a fat rat.

    @Observation: Good news – jj post bs is out of control. hope jj advertisers are reading

  • obviously

    @Same ol same ol: you know very little about him. Most all the flying is work related. He’s now in Louisana working on the production end of PTF. Many lunches out are meetings. Some are lunches and dinners with friends. I suppose you never socialize? The trips to Hawaii were also work related to learn to surf for Mavericks.

  • question

    Why does he need a passport for a domestic flight – because he’s not a U.S. citizen? And yes, taking pics of a guy’s passport should be off limits.

  • The Noise In The Walls

    no kidding @question..
    *shakes head**…taking a pic of a passport photo?..Not cool

  • Observation

    Trolls Are Us again I see. JJ please do something about setting up a registration system. Your regulars are pretty tired of how things are these days.

  • Observation

    @Sligo lambert ^____^ cute:

    So you don’t care. If you carry on as you are then perhaps someone will take issue with your remarks and you might start to care at that point.

    No one is anonymous on the internet these days. Everyone can be traced if it is deemed to be appropriate.

    Carry on regardless …. I really don’t care myself if you end up in the mire.

    Once again this might post twice. JJ please do something to stop this happening.

  • $$$$

    @question#22
    Yes someone on WO said the same “why did he show his passport and not just his driving licence”….Probably because both passport and licence are British ones.

  • PsychoB

    I don’t know what requirements are for a person who is not a citizen on a domestic flight, they might have to show their passport. I don’t think its illegal to take a picture of someone’s passport, but I think he could sue LAX for it.

  • kc

    I suspect Kaz and Sligo are one and the same poster. The posts are everywhere on JJ with the same silliness no matter who the celeb is. I can’t image what fun that would be. Must have mental problems.

  • totally man

    @kc: of course one person. need a registration process for jj

  • realitycheck

    I am a citizen, but I use my passport to board planes all the time. GB is all over the world at different times so probably just uses his passport for convenience. It’s not illegal to take a picture of a passport but it would be illegal to steal the information and use it…identity theft. I would be pissed if I were GB. Ain’t gossip sites grand.

  • karen one

    Perhaps oldbutnotdead can weigh in on the passport photo issue. It just does not seem kosher to me.

  • stella

    Posting a photo of someone’s passport on the internet seems like a real invasion of privacy issue to me. But the law is strange. I doubt if Zimbio would have posted if it were against the law.

  • The Noise In The Walls

    Even if it isn’t against the law…have some common decency ……Is there any of that left in this world???

  • realitycheck

    It is an invasion of privacy as we see it, but maybe not the way the law sees it. It looks like someone was standing a few feet behind the agent and took a picture of GB not the passport per se. The passport was cut and blown up later. Where is the legal line? As I stated, if I were GB, I’d be pissed. But really for 40 bucks, a person can probably find all about him on line anyway.

  • LaRough

    @Observation: Come on don’t be over dramatic about it. Kaz and Sligo post at a lot of threads and they don’t stay long to make a difference. Threats of law suits are not cool. They are annoying but not defaming anyone.

  • LaRough

    @stella: I agree Zimbio has the option NOT to sell the blown up picture of the passport. Not cool..

  • http://JustJared Aqua

    I love these pictures he looks great and happy but I sure don’t agree with showing his passport photos.Seems to me an invasion of privacy.Even though the man holding the passport wanted to make sure the photo matched the carrier maybe he should of held the passport down or closer to him so that photogs couldn’t get a picture of it.It’s the first time I’ve seen something like this even though lots of celeb go through/to the airport security.

  • wtf?

    not sure why the passport thing issuch a huge issue…………we laugh at mug shots of celebs all the time

    how is an ugly passport photo or drivers liscence any diff? i suppose if his #’s are in there??? but aren’t these the same peeps that post his house on google and follow him around the world on twitter………….

    fans have created this mess, try not to preach too much here folks….never say i never

  • Me2

    Zimbio could have just not posted the passport pic. They did it for their own selfish reasons (so they could get more hits). Maybe the person taking the pic wasn’t zooming in on the passport or whatever. But I still think Zimbio at least owed Gerry this, not to post his passport pic. Thumbs down for Zimbio.

  • wtf?

    sorry need coffee..spelling errors galore

    .i haven’t seen these photos …i’m just asking how its any different to the other intrusions fans inflict on gerry?

  • wtf?

    last thing, observation, glad to here some folks are drawing the line at comments made on anon gossip boards, this place has really gone to he.ll and a haybasket. i am sick of it.. the rude language, the lies and attacks on good posters. i agree we need registration and an edit button. but this has all been said before. i hope red october returns along with some others soon. have a troll free day JJ land

    Another busy morning/afternoon . . . what is happening now in the world of one Mr. Gerard Butler? I’ve missed so much . . . so much to comment on . . . where to start . . . how about with:

    @mymymy (from last thread)
    Beautiful . . . inside and out! Loved the song, loved the pics, loved the effects! : )

    I need to finish reading everyones comments and I’ll be back . . .

  • redOctober

    @wtf?:

    I’m here (sometimes) ; D

  • realitycheck

    @wtf As I stated, you can buy any one’s information on line–driver’s license information, social security numbers, addresses, you name it. But if you use that information for criminal activity, you are screwed..unless you don’t get caught (which you probably won’t be) or are a celebrity. J/K on the celebrity thing…maybe.

  • taurus

    @redOctober

    Hope things are going well. :) G sure looks great in these airport pics . . . and he is so accommodating to his fans . . . very nice!

  • oldbutnotdead

    @stella:

    I really know very little about the law relating to photography. Likely there are “free speech” rights involved, so the courts would lean towards allowing them. Part of the dispute involves the distinction between merely taking a photograph, or selling a photograph that invades privacy in a way beyond mere annoyance. The passport is a public government document, I suspect, and probably there is some freedom of information law connected to it. However, possessing it and selling the information on it are two different issues, and I do not know the answer.

    GB’s legal team is probably researching the issue right now, as to whether they can quash the photos (not that there is any point to that anymore). I would never assume a photo site knows what is legal and what is not; many journalistic sites or quasi-journalistic sites, will go for the information, and hope there is no fall out, or if there is fall out, that they can scream free speech and get away with it.

    However, trust your instincts; if it seems wrong then it may be wrong at least ethically, if not legally.

  • oldbutnotdead

    @oldbutnotdead: Reality check is on point with that post. Not only is much information readily available for a price, but celebs such as GB have absolutely no privacy any more, with twitter followers, fb followers reporting his every move…I swear someone will follow him into the men’s room some day, and then sell it.

    It is the way the info or photo is used that may be actionable, not necessarily the possession of the information or photo.

  • Shaw

    @wtf?: Two wrongs don’t one right make. Heard of that? Not every fan of his follow him 24/7 and everywhere as you described.

  • redOctober

    @taurus:

    Everything OK, thanks ; )

    Just a bit confused as how the photos came to be taken. I’ve been flying through five countries (Europe) last January/February and security at the airports were so tight that nobody would have been allowed to take photos during security checks.

  • The Noise In The Walls

    So true @Shaw..
    but where do you drawe the line on photos?..Some paps have taken pics of him coming out of a loo..or when he’s eating etc…I guess that is part of being a celebrity..but taking a pic of a passport too?..Have other celebrities had that happen to them?..I just think the passport photo was stepping the line and realitycheck has a point..all that information available on line?…really??..Not kosher…
