I always thought the Joss Stone cover was the best version of this song I’d ever heard, but after hearing Natalie’s vocals in this “sneak peek” a few days ago, I can honestly say Ms. Stone’s been dethroned, because, as always, Ms. Maines sounds AMAZING. Can’t wait for the full track to be released.

Amazing. I miss her lovely voice. So what if she has opinions, she’s a true talent without all the mixing and morphing people have to do sell their voices. Natalie’s is just pure poetry. I miss her so much. Wish she’d reconsider music. SUCH A TALENT!!!

i hate it. this is one of the greatest songs ever written and like she did with fleetwood mac’s ‘landslide’ natalie blew it. she should seriously stop listening to the sycophants that encourage her to step out of her lane.

One of the best voices in the businesss, I’ve always adored Natalie. And I loved her version of Landslide, it equaled Stevie’s. But I hate to say this I’m not in to the arrangement, it does not do her voice justice, too much going on. They should have sat back and let Natalie’s voice take centre stage.

@Mel: I totally agree. The drums were totally unnesessary and quite frankly, annoying. The whole arrangement was “uncomfortable”.

Its the greatest pop song ever written and NO One will ever sing it like Carl Wilson. EVER.

Its one of the few songs in pop history that should never ever be covered on record by anyone.

Maines, like all others before her, fails at her attempt.

Love her voice, but she has not impressed me with her style, her politics, her complete disregard to her band mates. But, again, her voice is her gift. She should definitely use it -but also use her brain.

Natalies arrangement did what it was suppose to do and deliver a simple melody and message. It should have not – and it didn’t – overshadow the finale for the fans of the show.
