Synopsis: Marie de Mezieres (Melanie Thierry), a beautiful young aristocrat finds herself married to a young prince (Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet), she does not love, haunted by a rakish suitor (Ulliel) from her childhood, and advised by an aging nobleman (Lambert Wilson), harboring his own forbidden desire for her. Marie must struggle to stay alive in the intrigue of this corrupt political and romantic web of duty, passion, religion and war.
The Bertrand Tavernier-directed flick hits theaters April 15.

Very Good Thing that french movies can be seen in USA, even if I presume that it wont “hits” so many theatres.
Bertrand Tavernier is a great director…but…we have “modern movies” too…:)
I’m not normally a fan of French films but I will definitely watch this one … :o) But then — I’d probably watch Gaspard Ulliel read aloud the telephone book of Paris in front of a camera … LOL!

I find most of Tavernier’s movies boring, sorry. This story and this kind of plot have been seen a zillion times before so it better be well done and show some originality in other aspects. Also, the trailer reveals too much.

I’ll watch if it’s subtitled and not dubbed. If it’s dubbed I’ll skip cause that takes away from the performances of the actors.
Excellent movie! I saw it last year I think and I was really impressed! I even found it better than the book, which is rare. Go and watch it, it’s really worth it!
