Katherine Heigl: 'One for the Money' Delayed to 2012

Katherine Heigl and her mom Nancy head out for lunch at one of their favorite eateries, Little Dom’s Restaurant, on Friday (March 25) in Los Feliz, Calif.

The 32-year-old actress had just eaten lunch there with a male friend two days earlier.

Katherine‘s movie One for the Money was originally set for a July 8 release but it has been pushed back until next year. The film will now hit theaters on January 27, 2012.

FYI: Katherine is wearing Level 99 pants.

The studio must not think much of the movie or her to push a summer release to the dead of winter when there is the least box office competition .Katherine Heigl is not a movie star. She did it to herself with her bad attitude and smart mouth.

@JC:

Her box office performance would suggest she absolutely is. Only Killers didnt perform. She gets a bad rap in my opinion as well. In fact the press are on her back so much it is amazing her movies have done as well as they have. Some may not be that great granted – but none are as bad as some elements of the press would like people to believe. Also the fact is the Lionsgate has done a really poor job of marketing the movie thus far with all the date changes. They clearly want to try and give it the best chance possible but all they have done is made it look bad.

Katherine has a beautiful face – she is a beautiful woman..but the hair style does her no favors at all. Really hope she grows it out and goes for a more natural color.

@Steven:

Her box office success is directly coincided with the popularity of Grey’s Anatomy at the time. Since she left that show her movies haven’t been making as much. She spit on the people at Grey’s Anatomy and she spit on the people that worked on Knocked Up. She’s constantly putting her foot in her mouth and as a result she’s viewed as a b&$ch. I looked on IMDB about this movie because I don’t know anything about it, and she’s pretty much the only name in it unless you consider John Leguizamo an actor you’ll put your $13 down for. Putting this out around the Fourth of July would be insane, but I don’t see what is wrong with putting it out September or October if it’ s any good.

her mom wants to be famous.lol

@JC:

Yeah September or October would have been an option and most likely but Lionsgate slate is really full (check their publicity site). They have a ton of movies in the Fall so once they decided to move it they had little choice I think. The movies have done decent post Grey’s as well. For comparison, Life As We Know It was the second most successful rom-com after Easy A last year in terms of box office. It was a tough year for the genre – so many bombs. Witherspoon, Hathaway/Gyllenhaal, Aniston, McAdams – all who had movies that did a lot worse than Heigl’s. So her box office has been pretty solid. Considering the press she had as well its real achievement because they shoot her down and are unduly harsh on the movies before they even see them. Don’t get me wrong they aren’t Citizen Kane but if you believed some articles they are the worst films ever made – and they are LONG way from that.

As for spitting on Grey’s and spitting on Knocked Up. The press have given her hell over some comments and the punishment has far outweighed the crime. Take Knocked Up. She gave one interview to Vanity Fair (long after the movie was released) who were asking her if she agreed with comments that it was a bit sexist. She responded and the press went nuts. Never bothering to listen to her explain that she hoped women realized the exaggerated characters were what made the humor – just the headline. So despite all the hundreds of really positive interviews she gave and comments about how it was a wonderful experience, she was really grateful and so on – the entire focus became those few sentences. Really harsh in my opinion.

As for Grey’s – the comment about the writing wasn’t great that is for sure. Honest…too honest…(even though her storyline was dire that year) but probably best kept to herself. Definite foot in the mouth as you say.

But she got on well with the cast and crew in general – enough of them still say they miss her and Shonda Rhimes has said many times she would love her to come back for closure on Izzie’s character. So I don’t think there is ill feeling. Just seemed to me that others were free to leave the show from the press perspective but Heigl was given hell by the press. Not once did she say she wanted to leave (until she actually did) yet every year from Season 2 there were rumors. Most were due to the storyline for Izzie more than anything she had done or said (Denny incident, cancer etc).

Katie we love ya here in Miami, but please grow your hair back and ditch the peroxide blonde. Thanks :)

@steven are you her publicist?? do you work for paradigm?? she’s not a box office draw anymore…she’s rude and ungrateful.

January is where bad movies get dumped

LOL I’m surprised it’s not going straight to DVD then, since nobody usually leaves the house when they are buried in with tons of snow

@GG:

Hardly – I’m just a fan. Who are you? You seem to know an awful lot about her for someone you clearly dislike. Just don’t think she gets a very fair rap nor is she rude or ungrateful.

@GG:

Comments like yours GG always make me laugh.

When someone who is clearly a big fan of a celebrity (in this case Heigl) posts an opinion to defend their star, they have to be a publicist or an agent. Such a ridiculous thing to say.

Yeah cos her publicist / agent visits gossip sites like Just Jared to read comments on paparazzi pics. With the probably 20 or 30 people they must represent they have nothing better to do right? Get real.

Fans can post as well as haters you know :)

She picks the most UNFLATTERING sunglasses! They always rest really high on her forehead and it drives me CRAZY! I’m not hating — I think she’s a beautiful woman with fabulous style. But she has horrible taste in sunglasses!

i want her bag, anyone know who made it? tia
