Kate Walsh: Playing a Lesbian Was a 'Real Departure'

The 43-year-old Private Practice star recently chatted about her other project, the drama Angels Crest, in which she plays a “gruff, no-nonsense” lesbian character.

“Jane was a great role for me to play and a real departure,” she told The Advocate.

“I loved the character, and the relationship between her and her partner was really interesting to me,” Kate added. “There’s humor in how she’s an artist and kind of gruff and no-nonsense. It’s a really beautiful film.”
