OlderJennifer Aniston: Directing Short Film about Breast Cancer
Jennifer Aniston is set to direct a short film about breast cancer for Lifetime’s Project Five, a five part anthology series.
The 42-year-old actress will join Alicia Keys, Demi Moore, and Monster’s Patty Jenkins in directing the project – a fifth director is taking part but hasn’t been announced just yet.
“Our hope with Project Five is to entertain, inform and inspire dialogue, research and prevention. Otherwise, our goals are small,” Jennifer told Us Weekly. “We want these films to move people and empower those affected by breast cancer to stand tall through this challenge, which impacts all of our lives, no matter who we are.”
Last year, Jennifer told WWD that she hoped to direct in the near future.
“It’s getting to a time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction,” Jen shared.

In between the selling water, her lame rom/coms , vacationing in Mexico, and dating various men that disappear faster than my nail polish dries, i thought she’d never do anything worth while.

if this were purely done without self-seeking publicity, then she would have waited until it was already shot and ready for the promo tour.
you dont see any of the other celebs speaking out about it this early on. and when it is ready to be premiered- she will be front and center, just how she likes it.

she wants the attention so she can get her country singing movie funded. and what ever happened to the buttercup movie? didnt she make statements about it so early in advance, and it ended up getting the financing pulled? just like goree girls?

Jennifer has made so much money from her acting, she probably doesn’t give a crap what anybody thinks while she laughs her way to the bank. and she’s not the only actress to date around. it’s HOLLYWOOD, people. why don’t you give carmen diaz this much crap? take your negativity elsewhere; it just makes you seem bitter and ugly.
I have no doubt that she will try to get noticed by the UN so they can appoint her some type of ambassador. No doubt. Many celebs have been appointed. They just have to find a worthy cause. But Angie takes that role full force. That’s how she differs from the rest.
Wearing all black, applying lipgloss, publicly favoring David Fincher, copying Angie’s red carpet style, recycling BP quotes, etc.

@shana: Aniston gave her directorial debut in 2006 (‘room 10′ starring robyn wright) – so if you guys really need to bring this whole who copies who thing up – get your facts straight!

i hardly see other celebs push publicity on projects that they havent even approached yet.
example- buttercup, goree girls, this movie
she even kept talking about horrible bosses and wanderlust during her promo rounds for the switch. she knows public interest is decreasing.
she is directing this tv movie cuz no one will finance major films with her as the director, let alone as the lead actress.
by doing this, she hopes to get bigger projects financed. it would not surprise me that she is trying to get signed by a major talent agency like UTA.

This came from a press release from Lifetime – since it’s the network the shorts will air on. Jennifer gave a statement in the release as she is both directing and co-producing and clearly has been one of the main people behind this project. There isn’t about getting the public or anyone else interested – it’s part of her job.
It sounds like a great project and she’s long been wanting to direct again after successfully doing so with her co-director on Room 10 – award winning for them at the Santa Barbara Film Fest. Looking forward to the finished project.

You idiot. This will be Jen’s 2nd directorial film. She directed the short film Room 10 a couple years back before Angelina ever stood behind a camera.
Interesting since she has admitted to being a cigarette smoker, and has been reported many times to be a former and current pot smoker. Hmmm…she needs to re-read the research on the leading factors and causes of breast cancer (and all cancers for that matter).

The woman is directing a film about breast cancer. You trolls should get off your lazy rears and do something with yourselfs instead of picking on her.
And will this film also bring awareness to the well documented and scientifically studied facts about the links between cigarette smoking and breast cancer. Add, birth control to that mix and the risk goes up even higher. Regular intake of alcohol is also now known to be a proven risk for breast cancer. Hmmmm that would cover many, if not most femal celebs who regularly use and intake both on a regular basis, while selling a supposedly healthy image. It’s an industry full of hypocrisy. If she really wants to help she will cover known risks. She has also admitted to being a smoker.
