OlderJames Franco on Oscar Gig: I Did The Best I Could!
James Franco touches down after a flight on Thursday (March 31) to Washington, D.C.
The 32-year-old actor bundled up in a winter hat and several layers of shirts for his flight.
James, who will appear on The Late Show on Friday, chatted about his Oscar hosting experience and even traded stories with host Dave Letterman.
“I never dreamed of being, like, the best Oscar host ever,” James said (via People). “It was never on my list of things to do. It doesn’t mean I didn’t care and it doesn’t mean I didn’t try, right?”
As for allegations that he was under the influence while hosting, James said, “I love her, but … I think the Tasmanian Devil would look stoned standing next to Anne Hathaway. She has a lot of energy!”
“I haven’t watched it back. Maybe I had low energy. I honestly played those lines as well as I could,” James concluded.

he could just admit “yeah, i sucked. sorry about that” and move on. instead of trying to convince us he did his best because clearly he didn’t lol
Seriously, he didnt just suck, he was bloody awful! But i still like him, i do think he needs a bit of rest though! To much of a good thing aint always good int he end!

Uhh… not the best idea for an “a-c-t-o-r” to say… yeah, I did the best that I could with those lines. I agree with @Danielle: just say, I sucked, take responsibility and move on.
I like James but that was really horrible and do not put the blame on Anne!
The producers also were responsible for the awfull mistake!

He tried his best. It just so happens his best is absolutely garbage.
Maybe he should stop doing so many things at once and instead focus all his energy on one thing and do it good?

I agree with him. I keep telling every one Anne Hathaway had toooo much energy. It made me dizzyyyyy!!! I like him at the oscars. Oscars always boring

I think the oscars have always been boring. They are to long and to many awards. The writting s*ck. It seem like the were scare to write funny stuff. I dont blame James Franco. The oscars consist of many people not just the two host. And Anne was too over the top. I did like James Franco performance over all.

Dude, did he just backhand slang Anne? I agree Anne was annoying at times with the try hard but part of me felt like she was just trying to compensate for the fact that James looked absolutely uninterested. It was like school all over again and Anne and James were partners on a project that he won’t help with, and she’s trying her very best to pull his weight in making it work.
Anne is charming and talented, she did what she could with a half dead co-host. Passive aggressive with his Anne comment and about doing what he could with the lines. Just say you did your best and your best sucked.
