Robert Pattinson: How I Charmed Tai the Elephant

Robert Pattinson holds onto Tai‘s trunk while promoting his new movie, Water for Elephants, outside the Fairmont Miramar Hotel on Sunday (April 3) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 24-year-old actor talked about working with the 9,000-pound Asian elephant at a press conference with co-star Reese Witherpsoon.

Asked about his “on-set romance” with Tai, Rob shared, “I had a relationship with the elephant, but it was based purely on candy.”

“I strategically placed mints, like suck on them for a bit and then stick them onto [my body], like covering my entire chest all the time, and [I didn't] tell anyone,” he revealed.

“So every time the elephant would be like constantly sniffing me, I’d be like, ‘I don’t know!’ She just really likes me! It’s crazy!’ Yeah, I think she was just sniffing around for treats,” he added.

    Hahah… what?! Sounds a lot like the peanut butter deal on Twilight.
    I hate that they exploited animals for this movie, though.

    WFE is not a girl’s movie, its a movie for almost everyone. The book that it is based on was not written with teenagers in mind. The book is rich and gritty, just a wonderful read, and I can’t wait to see it. From what I can see, the movie looks like it’s going to be really good. Poor guy is never going to be given a chance by the nay-sayers because of that stupid Twilight series. I think he might just have a decent career ahead of him despite all the arses. He starts filming Cosmopolis in May for David Cronenberg. The sooner he breaks aways from Twilight the better.

    Love Rob! Such a lovely, down to earth guy and handsome too. Everyone who interviewed him for WFE says he is an absolute pleasure to talk to. They all seem to really like him. The people who saw the previews for WFE have said it is beautiful and well acted. I can’t wait to see it.

    when is PETA going to start protesting this movie? i might actually support them on this one!

  18. 18
    @lindsey Says:

    PETA is only concerned when animals are treated badly. No animals were treated badly on this set. Infact I’d say they were quite pampered and loved by everyone around them. No need to get all protesty. Save that for animals that actually need it who are far, far worse off in the World.

    Me recuerdas a un muchacho que tuvo una aventura conmigo como resultado de una borrachera en el parque Atenas, nuestro final fue hacernos de todo, eramos heterosexuales, pero nuestros cuerpos en esos momentos no estaban para pensar en ello, tanto ron con limón nos llevaba a hacer bromas que nos pusieron demasiado calientes, nos fuimos a mi casa y… Lo demás queda para vuestra imaginación. Eso, sí, nos dejamos nuevos el uno al otro…
