Nicki Minaj graces an alternate cover of Elle‘s May issue, on newsstands April 12!
Here is what the 26-year-old rapper had to share with the mag:
On her career aspirations growing up: “I always wanted to play with the boys. I didn’t want to be a pawn in their game or have a sidekick role. I wanted to be more of a lead character—a superhero.”
On her sense of style: “I tend to like booties…[pause]”—she takes a beat to clarify: no sexual meaning implied—“and really flashy shoes: totally studded out, in five colors with an insane platform.”
On her song “My Chick Bad” with Ludacris: “[I] chose to do punch lines and be comical, to show how bad I am lyrically, as opposed to how sexy I think I am.”

As a fashion and beauty blogger I would definitely have to commend Nicki Minaj on this gorgeous cover and her spread in ‘Elle’ magazine. She has definitely grown as an artist since her starting career. She’s covered numerous magazines, she takes amazing photos, she’s talented, she’s gorgeous, and she has the ability to stand on her own two feet. I say job well done.

@MRS. Bumble Kee: Sorry what did you say? talented? she acts as if she can rap but she sure cant. gorgeous? what her wigs? her fake behind? we know she did surgery on that one.. haha. And please, don’t get me started on the shoots she does. Just like Gaga they don’t create their own style, they are made. By their record company’s manager, go on go on. They needed someone like her, so they chose her. Not because she has the most talent of all.
