Mark Ruffalo Covers 'Details' May 2011

Mark Ruffalo wears a Burberry Brit shirt on the cover of Details magazine’s May 2011 issue.

Here is what the 43-year-old actor had to share with the mag:

On temporarily quitting acting in 2009: “I’d had it with L.A., and I really had it with the business side of acting, the machinery of it all. You’re an artist, but then all of a sudden you’re a product at the same time, and there’s this company that’s sprung up around you. I got depressed. I was losing my love for it. So I said, ‘I’m done.’ I fired everybody and moved my family out here (Callicoon, NY). I had to make a radical move. The Kids Are Alright was my swan song. I didn’t know what I was doing next.”

On acting in The Avengers, a computer-generated style movie: “It’s the absolute perfect marriage because it relies on your imagination, your ability to project outside of yourself, to be the watcher and the watched. A stage actor has to be able to do that, because you’re telling the story with your body as much as your face and voice.”

On not training to be The Incredible Hulk: “No, no, no. Look, I’m eating guacamole and potato chips….You think Tom Cruise does this?”

I always loved Mark Ruffalo, he’s so deep, and so humble, so down to earth.

I must say that since the movie “In the cut”, he represent my ultimate fantasy…when you’re depressed, you just have to watch this movie to feel love again…:)

Nice cover but he’s being a hypocrit if he’s complaining about working in the Hollywood machine, meanwhile he signed up to play the Incredible Hulk!

We’ve already seen two different actors play the Hulk in recent years, when will Hollywood realize that no one cares about the Hulk anymore?

I love how he says he is an artist….No, you are not, Mark…you dress up and play make believe….and if you don’t like the business side of being an “artist”, then why not turn down those millions of dollar pay checks you get and just do it for the “artistry”. Hollywood IS a business fool…can’t stand this guy, looks smug!

not a word about how the murder of his brother impacted his decision. it must be filtered in there somewhere.

He decided not to quit acting because of The Kids Are All Right? Wow, he must have been smokin some really good weed because that movie was awful. It definitely should not have been nominated for Best Picture. In that movie, the kids were all right but the parents were really messed up.

hot hot hot love him!
