Check out Jake Gyllenhaal‘s yearbook photo taken more than a decade ago!
The 30-year-old actor, listed as Jacob Gyllenhaal, posed for the pic in 1998 while he was attending Columbia University in New York City.
A source who shared the same floor as Jake during his freshman year tells JustJared.com exclusively, “He did share that he identified himself as an aspiring actor at the time.”
In the yearbook, students were asked who they wanted to be like. Jake‘s response – Kevin Bacon – was listed by default since he didn’t name a specific person.
Jake attended Columbia for two years before leaving to pursue his film career, breaking out in Homegrown, October Sky, and 2001′s Donnie Darko.

When you consider that he was around 18-19 in this picture, and compare this picture to how he looks in The Day After Tomorrow, I can see where he’s got the Ugly Duckling becoming a swan thing goin’ on! LOL! I mean, yeah, he looks the same now only a LOT better.

I’ve always heard those rumors that Jake had a nose job but I never paid much attention to it. Looking at this photo it’s pretty obvious he did have a nose job. If you look at photos of him today his nose is slightly thinner and better shape. And that’s not a criticism because he actually looks better with the job then without. Afterall Hollywood is all about the image.
Is he wearing a gold chain? There better not be a shark’s tooth on the end of it.
