Elizabeth Banks: Hunger Games' Effie Trinket!

Elizabeth Banks has landed the part of Effie Trinket in the upcoming Hunger Games movie!

The 37-year-old actress, best known for her roles in 30 Rock and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, will play the perky handler assigned by the Capitol to escort and advise Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) as they prepare for the Hunger Games.

From the day Katniss volunteers to take little sister Prim’s place, Effie maintains a freakishly breezy disposition and an obsession with etiquette and punctuality that masks a growing attachment to these two young tributes.

Congrats to Elizabeth!!

She and her husband just their first child via a surrogate. You would think that she would probably want to take time off but she is running back to work and giving up quality time with her baby.

If she is going to dye her hair that color she should pay attention to her roots. They look tacky. I’m not hating, just pointing it out. It looks so wrong when women do that.

@Hugo Grant:

Hugo Grant, are you just going to spew your judgmental hatred of working moms everywhere you go?

Most working women get six weeks off from work maximum, some don’t even get that much off. I guess you exist in the era when the little woman was supposed to stay home barefoot and pregnant and raise the kids while the big strong man went out and earned the money.

Welcome to the 21st century where things have changed. A lot.

@ Ben Badgely: I agree! I love Elizabeth Banks ^^
