OlderZoe Kravitz: 'I Didn't Think I Had A Shot' at X-Men Role
Zoe Kravitz sits back and relaxes in a feature for Wonderland magazine April/May 2011 issue.
Here is what the 22-year-old actress had to share with the mag:
On getting the role in X-Men: First Class: “When it comes to stuff like X-Men, I just didn’t think that I would get that part. I just think I auditioned because people were auditioning and my agent was like, ‘Please go’, and had to talk me into going.”"
On having famous parents [Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet]: “Having well-known parents is kind of a double-edged sword. It’s given me wonderful opportunities, but people also like to knock you down because of it too and say that you have got things because of that.”
On her parents’ advice for dealing with Hollywood: “They told me not to take it seriously. People get very serious about the Hollywood fame thing and the reason I think I came out level-headed was that they didn’t raise me to think it was anything serious. I had no illusions. People get way too deep about it and in the end it’s just a job and we’re all equal.”

X-Men: First Class will not apparently be the definitive depiction of the Hellfire Club as they do not seem to have included anyone apart from Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost. As it stands it will only be them and a bunch of nameless henchmen in the film. They should have included Harry Leland, Donald Pierce, Tessa and Selene instead of several randomly chosen mutants whose names that they picked out of a hat.

She’s a good actress from what I’ve seen so far. I like how she acknowledges that having famous parents has given her certain opportunities.

@boston61: Ok, but it’s not like her parents are at the top of their careers so I wonder how much power they have. I mean let’s be honest, they’re C-list at best and their careers peaked like 15 years ago. If this kid has any talent and any brains she could easily make a name for herself. But if it’s just the fame she’s after I’m betting it will last for a year or so.

Stop sipping the haterade. Her beauty and unique looks would get her casted. If she looked like Rumor Willis — there’s someone who would NEVER get any jobs if it wasn’t for her parents!
