Kate Middleton: Second Wedding Dress!

Kate Middleton and Prince William leave Clarence House on Friday (April 29) in London, England.

The newlyweds headed to Buckingham Palace for an evening wedding reception with William‘s dad, Prince Charles, and his step-mom Camilla Bowles.

Kate, who will now officially be known as the Duchess of Cambridge, wore another gorgeous Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown, while William traded in his colonel uniform for a tux.

Also pictured: Kate and William‘s eight-tier wedding cake and the happy couple greeting guests at Buckingham earlier in the day at a lunch reception.

    2 Billion people all over the world watched the the Royal Wedding. Beautiful, Congratulations to all Brits

  • KeKe

    Hopefully my tax money was not used to pay for this wedding !

    I am all in support for them and I think it was all beautiful, but in a time of recession, especially where people are working years just to afford their weddings,and so many programs are being cut especially prenatal and mother and baby programs,it was a bit extravagant. But I guess that is what some people need to cheer them up.

    @Gary. Camilla is a lazy slob in her bathrobe at the party. I never understand how Charles could cheat on beautiful Diana with that pig.

  • rada

    better dress. much more modern and flattering.

  • KeKe

    Yep.. naysayers.. when the buzz wears off and you get back to reality, lets see how you feel when you realize just how much tax money is used by the royals and how it affects the everyman, schools/ hospitals / etc.

    PS.. wonder why they snubbed you Americans with no invite to the Obamas. I mean Joss Stone even got and invite !

  • Leslie

    I think they make a very nice couple. I think the sweater and the belt add a nice touch. I also like her hair down.

  • KeKe go Pee pee

    The Obamas were not snubbed. The Royals did not want to invite every political leader from every country. Every government in every country is corrput. Crying about taxes on a gossip website is not going to change anything. Calm down and drink a toast to the newlyweds! Cheers!

    Catching up on comments. having the LV photoshoot in Cambodia would be a great for cambodia! So many great places in Siem Reap to take the photoshoot. Tonle sap, the jungles and villages around the area. But perhaps, the JP’s did the LV shoots in Samlaut area. It’s jungle and villages there.

    As for Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, I thought it was just right for her and her wedding. I did find myself hoping there would be a train – it seemed to me that a wedding dress at the Abbey needed a train – and it did. But not a ludicrously 22 feet long one and I love the detail at the back which topped the train
    .
    And the lace top! I read that some portions of the lace was appliqued on to the bodice of the dress with tiny stitches. The ladies doing it had to wash their hands every 30 minutes so that the lace and thread didn’t get sweaty. They had to change their needles every 3 hours to make sure the needles were sharp. I imagine they used these really fine embroidery needles and had to do the stitching under a magnifying glass!
    .
    It’s worth it! The lace and stitching are so beautifully done, you can barely see the sleeve hole seams which attach the sleeve to the bodice so that it looks like one piece. I’ve been trying to work out where the zips and stuff like that were (side zip ie, under the armpit or back) but I can’t tell.
    .
    One day, this dress is going on display and I hope I’ll get a chance to really squint into it.

  • miley

    the dress looks (in part) like the golden dress that miley wore for the oscars of 2010

  • dani

    @KeKe:

    No your tax money didn’t pay for the event. The Middletons, Queen and Prince Chas footed the cost. Many of the security arms donated their time. So the only pennies that came out of your pocket was for some of the security. And seeing as how it brought billions of dollars into the British economy and will continue to do so as long as the world is fascinated by this young couple–I’d say it was a pretty good investment and return on the investment.

  • Happy for Prince William

    @FOOls in england:
    Prince William lost his mother and you can’t begin to understand the sadness he felt in his heart all of these years and Prince Harry also. Prince William found happiness with someone to help him heal.
    I don’t know if she was the BEST CHOICE for a wife but she
    appears to be very kind and caring. She needs to be strong for other
    people but I hope she does not become conceited as others start
    bowing to her. I am happy for Prince William that he can start a new life with someone because what happened to his mother was very sad.

  • dani

    @FOOls in england:

    Excuse me. Yes we do have pageantry like this in the states. Presidential funerals for one. And secondly, there is no better country at pulling off pomp and pageantry like the UK. And it is not like this type of thing happens on a weekly or yearly basis. Suck it up jealous one.

    Personally I thought it was a fascinating moment in time as did the 2 billion people watching and the billions of people who watched replays of the event.

    Why not celebrate love? Americans certainly go nuts over their superbowls, other sports championships etc.

    Amazing attention for detail! Yes, it’s worth it! The dress was beautiful, not over the top. The train wasn’t too long. I like her taste. I would like to see the dress to when, if, it goes on display.

  • Orchid

    I would like to see the dress too when, if, it goes on display.

    I think that this has been the biggest event we’ve had over here since Princess Diana’s funeral and before that her marriage to Prince Charles. It has brought the whole country together for a day which people will remember for many years. That in itself deserves celebrating.

    -

    For the people who said that this wedding doesn’t matter. If it didn’t matter then why did millions of people across the world watch it even if it was the middle of the night for them? The wedding did matter… a lot.

    -

    I love how the Royal Family know how to go far and beyond anyone’s expectations. I just loved everything about yesterday. I especially (like most women) loved the dress. It was a perfect blend of traditional dress with modern touches to it. She looked so beautiful in it.

    -

    I for one do not care if my taxes got used for this wedding. I would much rather it be spent on something I can enjoy myself, and brings happiness to other than helping out the banks.

    -

    I am also going out on a limb here and saying that they will announce a pregnancy within the next year. Here’s hoping!

    Next year will be the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee so expect similar scenes in 2012

    Kate Middleton is rather beautiful, but of course she is no princess Diana.

  • brainy box

    SHE LOOKS STUNNING!!!!!! PITY WILLIAM HAD TO RUIN IT WITH HIS BALDING HAIR!!!!!

  • kerri

    Gorgeous. I would love to wear a dress like that.

  • Balcony Kiss

    @brainy box:
    Your comment was mean and obnoxious.
    Prince William is very attractive and Kate made a very pretty bride but I would not consider her stunning. If you believe she was stunning that is
    because she just married a prince and kissed him on a balcony.
