Orlando Bloom & Miranda Kerr - MET Ball 2011

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr are the picturesque pair at the MET Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 28-year-old Australian Victoria’s Secret model wore a Marchesa gown with an embroidered white leather strapless flared dress with draped silk tulle overlay and Nicholas Kirkwood ivory lace platform sandals.

The Costume Institute Gala Benefit celebrates the opening of the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibition, featuring the late designer’s iconic work.

The event is hosted by honorary chairs Salma Hayek, her husband Francois-Henri Pinault, and co-chairs Colin Firth, designer Stella McCartney and Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Special performance by Florence And The Machine!

Gorgeous couple, nice to see them out and about.

What is with all these negative comments? Is there anyone who really seriously says, that Miranda isn’t successful on her own. She is one of the top earning models, and people say she uses Orlando for her fame? LMAO

  • Responsible Parent

You really need to find more friends and get a life.
I rarely pay attention to Miranda Kerr and Orlando is boring to me.
When a photo shows up on Just Jared of a mother behaving
inappropriately I have to make a comment. First of all she is cute at best
with tons of makeup on to get any attention and that is probably why
she purposely poses for a photo breast feeding her baby.
Miranda is trying very hard to prove something regarding her
    breast implants.
Why can’t she just show a family photo like most people would.
I can’t waste my time commenting about her.

  • http://justjared Mjforever

I am just here to witness the Delphi morons meltdown LOL and they never disappoint I gotta give them that LOOOOOOOOOOOL .

  • white swan

She looks huge in this terrible dress. Her legs seems shapeless like a columns, head is too big. I never thought I will say that for Miranda, but she looks fat. I don’t like her recent photo shoots, specially the one in black and violet swim ware. Now she looks bigger than a month ago. Did she gain weight in the meantime? Maybe it is only this swan dress- the ugliest dress among all there.

Why do designers do this to beautiful women??? Miranda is gorgeous – her figure is the best it’s been in her whole career (in my opinion) – so what the bloomin heck is this atrocity that she has been forced to wear?? Ick.

  • go gisele!

O no, Gisele doesn’t look like a pony. She looks just like supermodel should look. Even more, she is the Queen among all models. She is ahead all of them- her look, personality and stile.

  • contageous

LOL! Two ugliest dresses: Miranda’s & Kirsten Dunsts- Orlando’s wife and ex girlfriend! He doesn’t care about clothing at all. It seems to be contagious.

  • sheesh!

I love how people who know absolutely nothing about fashion, are all of a sudden experts when Miranda is involved.
Many designers are showing a ‘Black Swan’ influence in their designs. Many are using tulle when they have never touched it before. So yes, the balletic feel of the dress is intentional, and Miranda has the height, and the gorgeous legs to really work it.
Several fashion critics have said that this is one of their favorite looks of the night. I think that I will stick with their opinions, over some small groupo of haters.
    She looks amazing!
And I think that is the real issue here, is it not?

  • @52

    STILL with the implant garbage.
Didn’t we embarass you enough on the last three threads where you brought this up?
Is this the new delphi mantra?
Every lie you have stated has been proved wrong over and over again, so you are starting a new one?
You idiots get more ridiculous every day.
    Facts don’t lie.
    But delphites sure do.

  • @54

And again with the “fat” comments?
Yeah, and you claim that it’s MIRANDA who causes young girls to have body image issues.
She looks gorgeous, Orlando is right by her side, and you guys can’t stand it.

  • brainy box

  • Miranda is Better

Excuse me? What planet are you from?
The person you are trying to communicate with has obviously already
EMBARRASSED YOU. Why else are you so defensive?

Is it really worth your time to defend a woman who is not that pretty?
Tons of makeup does not make Miranda better than other women.
Miranda believes she is better and is clever at marketing this attitude
    of hers.

If she had more class I would consider her very pretty.

Miranda has attitude and lots of makeup she can afford,
    not natural beauty.

  • Title Your Comment Please

Can some people title your comments properly!
I don’t know who you are referring to.

  • what

lol you proved nothing you liar. Did you yourself feel up Miranda’s implants and know for a fact they are not? Until you do that you have no proof. Proof is in the previous photos compared to current, and her sudden urge to display her implants to the world.

  • Perry

what is this chipmunk doing there? she is not a Vogue model.

  • @62

You delphidiots are so sad and pathetic.
You have been proved wrong over and over again, but you still come back just to look even more foolish.
    Not defensive at all.
Just pointing out ONCE AGAIN that FACTS prove you morons wrong.
The more you repeat this idiotic theory of yours, the more you prove how right we are.
You are just showing the world what a buch of liars you are.

  • @64

    Proof is in medical fact.
FACT: You CAN’T have breast augmentation surgery when you are pregnant or breast feeding.
I guess that you have avoided facts for so long, you forgot what that word means.
Or are you really that stupid?

  • @65

Uhmmmm, actually….she IS a Vogue model.

  • Kelly

I think she looks fine, those shoes are incredible. This is the Met Costume gala, the key word there is costume – it isn’t uncommon for people to wear fashion that tends to be more costume.

  • Kelly

    @ned: you are a jerk.

  • Kelly

@@64: This is so true. Lets use common sense for a moment how on earth is a woman who is lactating supposed to be cut open?

Just a few comments. 1) My dislike of the dress was in no way compounded by my appreciation of Miranda 2) My appreciation of Miranda in no way makes me a fahsion expert. 3) Conceptually, the balletic feel is interesting but it does not work when the end-product makes the wearer look like they have raided barbie’s closet. Maybe it is my mistake and the dress looks gorgeous in real life but these photos certainly do them no amount of justice. 4) There is having fashion knowledge and there is being a fashion sheep. I did not know that the ‘balletic’ thing was in, so thanks for the update. However, just because something is brave/ daring. follows a certain trend, does not make it immediately edgy/ aesthetically pleasing in my eyes.

  • sheesh!

Actually, my comment was directed at the Miranda hater at #54.
Sorry to not have made that clear.
Not liking the dress is fine. But when these idiots insult her by calling her FAT, it identifies them as a delphidiot, and they deserve to be insulted.
Not everyone will like this dress, that’s a given. But they don’t care about the dress, they olny want to insult her.

Haha! Fair dos. No hard feelings then :) (also, you wouldn’t happen to have disliked my comment would you :P ) Nah, a healthy, relatively civilised discussion is always interesting. I enjoy hearing what people think as much as I like expressing my own opinions.

  • sheesh!

Unfortunately, a healthy, relatively civilised discussion is rarely found on this, or any other anon board.
Especially when it involves a beautiful woman dating/married to a popular, handsome male celebrity.
Just wander over to Bar’s thread to see what I mean. Those Leo fans are even meaner that Orlando’s *cough* “fans”.

  • @52

If you “rarely pay attention to Miranda”, then how do you know about the breat feeding or implant wank??
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.
    In other words……BUSTED.
You are a delphite, or you would never be STUPID enough to believe that she got breast implants while pregnant or lactating.
So the only way that you could “rarely pay attention” to her is if you consider 2-3 times an hour as “rarely”.

  • rachel

Miranda and Orlando both look amazing.
Is that why the wannabe fashionista Kate Bosworth stayed home?
So that she didn’t have to face Orlando when he is looking that good, and while he is the happiest that he has ever been with his new baby and beautiful baby mama?
    poor Kate.

  • flavie

I just don’t care for her new body. I don’t like how she seems so top heavy all of the sudden (face, boobs, back, shoulders, stomach) but has these little skinny un shaped chicken legs (adriana lima is the same way now too). She looks mis proportioned now. I hope she gets her beautiful long lean proportioned ballerina body back ASAP or she will only continued to get this un known Korean work.

  • Millie Followhore

No matter how silly a dress, Miranda will ALWAYS look gorgeous.

  • @78

    She’s already back for VS.
And just because YOU don’t know the brand, doesn’t mean that it is unknown in Korea.
besides, the Asian markets often pay top dollar for modelling contracts. That’s why so mant A-listers do commercial work over there.

  • Amanda

wow, people are mean on these forums.

  • KS fan

she reminds me of a pixie in that dress, I think she looks so cute.!!

  • white swan

    To Sheesh:
Why are you calling me idiot and hater? This is NOT Miranda’s fan page. Every opinion is allowed, if it is civilized. Mine is. I didn’t insult anyone. I just expressed my opinion- Miranda looks fat (to me) in some recent photo shoots. What is insulting in that- my opinion is my opinion? Some people will agree, some not. Do you really think that calling me idiot and hater is not insult? It is insult, you know nothing about me. I don’t hate Miranda, why should I? She didn’t do any harm to me. But, she is a public person, and public persons are under the public eye. Their public can like them, not like them, love them, adore them or ignore them. What you are doing here is difficult to understand. You are attacking EVERYONE who dares to say something that is not pure Miranda’s adoration. Only shippers are welcome, aren’t they?

  • @83

Anyone who calls a woman that looks like that “fat” is a hater.
    It’s really that simple.
So whine all you want, but nothing will change that fact.

  • um…

Kate was working. I know mayfreak follows Cher C. because she obsessively follows everyone even remotely associated with Orlando in the off chance that one of them happens to mention Orlando in passing so that she can screencap the comment and post it to one of her 18 million Kerr-Bloom shrines. She actually hasn’t slept or worked or even gone out of the house since this fugly model started bearding for Orlando, but that’s besides the point. Anyway, she follows Cher so she would have seen Cher’s tweet regarding Kate and the Met Ball. Kate is working and could not attend this year. Unlike Orlando who has nothing better to do than follow his beard around NYC and go to events he would never have bothered with if she didn’t make him go so that she could be his plus one and actually get in the door without VS having to foot the bill for her ticket and God awful dress.

  • It’s a costume ball folks

The dress IS very ‘costumey,’ but that’s the whole point of the Met Gala Ball, is it not? Miranda is still a beautiful woman with a beautiful figure imo. I think she looks perfectly appropriate for this uniquely-special ‘fashion’ event. Have I liked her better in other outfits? Of course. She looked absolutely stunning in that slinky black dress she wore to her husband’s recent film premiere for instance. But her outfit here, even though it would probably be considered over the top at more standard events, doesn’t seem out of line for one like this where fashion choices tend to be frivolous and daring (i.e. ‘costumey’) instead of conventional and conservative.

  • @85

    Oh, so bitter!
So you think that model who has been on the cover of Vogue Italia, Vogue Espana, i-D, Numero, Elle, etc., and walked for Prada and Balenciaga, and has been one of the highest earning models several years running, doesn’t belong at the Met?
That’s just stupid. Your irrational hatred is blining you….again.
And bearding? Is this Melissa or Liesel? LOL?
    Pssssttttt….beards don’t get pregnant.
Or did you forget how babies are made?

  • stork

Psssssstttttt…beards get pregnant when they find someone other than the gay man they are bearding for to have sex with them. Moron.

  • blahblahblah

No, I don’t think she belongs there. I think she belong back in her sty with her piglet. The piglet she concieved by having lots and lots of sex with some man that is not the man she is contracted to make public appearances with in order to make brainless twits like yourself believe he is straight. Go polish your PR issue tinhat so more of the PR waves and bore directly into your little pea brain.

  • toni

Your irrational hatred is blining you….again.

Stop pretending you have Orlando’s coq in your mouth and speak properly.

  • @88, 89

Actually what a brainless person would do is believe a conspiranoid story like that, typical of soap operas with a lame plot, without the slightest bit of proof. As a matter of fact, that’s why only you believe that.

  • @88-89

    Sockpuppets, YAY!!!!
I guess that she found a man that looks exactly like Orlando, because that baby has his eyes and no one else’s.
Is that why you are so mad? That your dream of Orlando and Viggo getting together is OVER? I mean besides the fact that neither one of them is gay??
    Poor, poor tinhats.
There must be only a few of you left at your clubhouse meetings.
You know, when you re-read the stories about a friend of a friend’s cousin’s half-brother’s nephew on his dad’s side who lives in the same town as Viggo and who used to see Orlando there all of the time even when he was halfway around the world filming movies.
You know. That ABSOLUTE proof you have that those two are in love, and any female that they are seen with is a beard. Including the woman that Viggo was just seen kissing the other day.
    And you US morons??

  • @90

Such an elegant little lady, aren’t you.

  • @91

“Actually what a brainless person would do is believe a conspiranoid story like that, typical of soap operas with a lame plot, without the slightest bit of proof.”

    That’s delphi for ya!

  • white swan

    @It’s a costume ball folks:
    to 86:
A lot of celebrities were there. Gisele, Penelope, Gwyneth, Madona, Stewart. They all look stunning, not “costumey”. The point of the Mat Gala is not to promote ugly dresses for sure. Do you remember Bjork on Oscar with the dead swan around her neck? Miranda’s dress is the same type of dress. In one word, “overcostumey”. Ugly.

  • Meji

I liked Bjork at the Oscars. Why shouldn’t people wear fun, silly high fashion to the Oscars if they want to?

Most people I have read talking about this say that the Met Ball IS a venue to be wacky and arty and nearly everyone played it too safe.

I don’t have strong objections to Miranda’s dress. It’s sorta sweet and vulgar at the same time, which suits her, but it doesn’t seem remarkable. Apparently it’s made of leather and has lots of intricate detail which you can’t really see so that’s pointless for a photo-opportunity dress. She might have chosen Marchesa to suck up to Harvey Weinstein, in which case she would be trying to support Orlando’s career.

Orlando’s scarf has tiny sinister skull or alien heads on it in the close-ups. I like it.

  • @95

The constant complaint on most fashion blogs was how “boring” most of the women looked.
Miranda took a bit of a risk, and according to fashion bloggers, it paid off. She’s been included in several ‘best dressed’ discussions, includung The Fashion Spot.
I thought that she looked fabulous.

  • FRulz

@Perry: Actually, she’s been on Vogue Italia and Vogue Australia’s COVERS.

Miranda is a beautiful woman and Orlando makes my bones melt.

  • Breast Implants

    @white swan:
Miranda is not fat. She finally appears healthy. Having a child made
her realize how grossly skinny she was. Why are you calling her fat?
It’s people like you that make young girls starve themselves.
Let Miranda for once appear like a healthy female should be.
For anyone who keeps bashing the truth that Miranda did not get
you all need to get a life and get some serious emotional help if you can spend everyday here trying to say she didn’t get breast implants.

  • @99

You say that people who claim that she did NOT get breast plants need to get a life, and not spend “every day here trying to say that she didn’t get breast implants”????
Don’t you find that a bit hypocritical when YOU ARE HERE EVERY DAY CLAIMING THAT SHE DID???
Hypocrisy? Blind to the truth? Rather die than admit that you are wrong?
    Yep. You’re a delphidiot alright.
Miranda has had a great career with Victoria Secret. One that started when she had small breasts. In fact, you delphites used to say that she was “so flat that she looked like a boy”, remember? Now you are claiming that she got the job because of her full breasts? HUH?
Look at all of her past VS shoots, and you will see a woman with a sveldt, athletic figure with B cup (if even that) sized breasts. If she had implants, they would be the smallest implants in the history of plastic surgery.
Sure, some of the VS models have had implants. Marissa and Adriana for example. But there are plenty who have not. Ale, and MIRANDA have never had implants. They didn’t need them to achieve success. They are proof that you are wrong….again. You can indeed have a great career with VS, even if you don’t have large breasts.
