Arnold Schwarzenegger: I'm Back On The Big Screen

Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to star in the drama Cry Macho for Academy Award-winning producer Albert Ruddy (The Godfather, Million Dollar Baby), the ex-governor’s spokesman Alan Mendelsohn said.

The 63-year-old actor, who recently announced his split from wife Maria Shriver, would play a down-on-his-luck horse trainer hired to kidnap his former boss’ young son from his ex-wife in Mexico. Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) will direct.

“If it works, and I think it will,” Ruddy said, “this could be a classic. There’s an emotional line to the story that really works. At the end of the movie, I’m hoping audiences will be laughing and crying at the same time.”

Arnold will reportedly be paid $12.5 million plus 25 percent of the first-dollar gross of the film, according to The Wrap.

    Sean Dignam Says:

Former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to do more dramas rather than just doing huge action blockbusters because he pigeonholed himself as an actor who just did action movies. He is an underrated actor. So, I hope that he does more dramas, tries to reach his full potential as an actor and tries to win an Oscar.

In all fairness would any producer declare ““If it works, and I think it won’t” about his upcoming projects?

The man was a pig to Maria. She only stayed married to him for the kids and to not make waves while he was governor. Wait until all the women he groped come out of the woodwork.
