Salma Hayek & Antonio Banderas: 'Puss in Boots' in Cannes!

Salma Hayek and co-star Antonio Banderas promote their new spin-off movie, Puss in Boots, during a photocall held at Carlton Beach on Wednesday (May 11) in Cannes, France.

Puss in Boots, which opens everywhere on November 4, tells the story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat’s meeting with Shrek and his friends. Chris Miller directed the animated flick – he also worked with Antonio on Shrek the Third.

FYI: Salma is wearing Gucci. Jennifer Lopez wore a similar shoulder top at the 2011 MET Ball.

I wish Antonio Banderas would do more American mainstream movies like he used to. Several of the movies that he has appeared in over recent years have not been released properly or gone straight to DVD such as Bordertown (2006), My Spy (2008), The Other Man (2008) and The Code (2009). Unfortunately only if is a Shrek or Zorro film does it go to the cinema. It is a shame. He is an underrated actor.

Antonio is a great actor but is never gonna be the spanish equivalant of Tom Hanks or Denzel Washington with whom he appears in the Movie Philadelphia for which Hanks won the best actor oscar. I’m excited about Puss in boots the movie because I adore the character

This is awesome! Puss was the best part of the Shrek franchise!

@ELIZABETH:

So true! Puss in Boots was the only character I was excited to see in Shrek. Can’t wait to see him in his own film.
