Ryan Gosling: 'Idolmaker' Star & Director!

Ryan Gosling is stepping both in front of and behind the camera for his next project.

The 30-year-old actor will star and make his directorial debut in a remake of the 1980 movie, The Idolmaker, Deadline reports.

The original film told the “story about the life of rock promoter/producer Bob Marcucci, who discovered Frankie Avalon and Fabian.”

Ryan, who’s at the Cannes Film Festival this week to premiere his latest film, Drive, also most recently worked on Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Ides of March.

@FLOP!: I’m sure he doesn’t care that his films flop because he’s not that kind of actor. He’s not critically acclaimed for nothing. Loser.

Great news!

Ryan is a unique actor, able to play lots of roles and inhabit those various personalities with a certain vibe and body language. Unlike the type of work actors like James Franco do, where every character he plays is always the same–could have interchanged Sol in Pineapple with the guy in Your Highness or the kid in 127–he never changed his demeanor. Gosling has more versatility and from what I know is a much nicer and more stable human being than most hollyweird actors.

Anyone who doesn’t know who this is isn’t up with the times and doesn’t know a decent actor from a hole in the ground! Ryan is one of the best actors in decades. He’s amazingly talented, intelligent, and has great versatility…can’t wait to see his directorial debut! Way to go, Ryan!– No doubt it will be marvelous. Your fans <3 you!!!
