OlderCarey Mulligan: Night Out with Baz Luhrmann!
Carey Mulligan heads out with director Baz Luhrmann on Tuesday (May 17) in New York City.
The two are working together in the upcoming Great Gatsby film.
In November, Carey got a call from Baz saying she landed the role of Daisy Buchanan, prompting the 25-year-old British actress to burst into tears at the CFDA Awards!
Though Ben Affleck was initially rumored to be in talks to play Tom Buchanan, Deadline reports Joel Edgerton will take on that role.
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Jay Gatsby, while Tobey Maguire has been cast as Nick Carraway and Isla Fisher as Myrtle.

No, I would leave that speculation to the lousy TV-actress with a 5 minute part in a successful film vying for roles that other, real, actors are vying for.

The real actress, is working while “Gossip Girl” is in Cannes with Leo having fun, maybe this is why Carey got the movie role. lol

Why is she wearing her grandad’s shoes and her grandmother’s clothes?
She’s dressed like a senior citizen.
She’ll be a great Daisy. I saw her in a period film she did awhile back and she was stunningly beautiful and executed her part to perfection. Carey has the chops to pull this part off. Out of any of the roles in Gatsby, the Daisy character would be the hardest to cast. Putting the wrong person in this role would ruin the whole film. Look at the difference in characterization between Mia Farrow and Mira Sorvino and you’ll understand what I’m saying immediately. Daisy needs to be fragile, passive and active, indulgent, flighty, and ephemeral. Leo’s role is more straight forward. Carey’s… not so much.
I`m guessing that these unflattering photos were taken soon after Carey stepped off stage from workshopping “Through a Glass Darkly” where she is playing a mentally ill woman. She cleans up extremely well though if it is required.
how can anyone compare carey mulligan to blake lively… blake lively can’t act for s***
