Check out this sneak peek of a buff and shirtless Tom Hardy in the upcoming film, The Dark Knight Rises!
The 33-year-old actor takes on the role of Bane, the villainous escaped prisoner “who becomes abnormally strong after being pumped full of drugs,” director Christopher Nolan previously announced.
The first photo of Tom as Bane surfaced on Friday, when the film’s official website, TheDarkKnightRises.com, launched.
Fans quickly discovered that tweeting #thefirerises helps decode and fill in a mosaic of Bane – but some clever fans were able to uncover the full photo!

I hope the climactic fight between Christian Bale and Tom Hardy will knock everyone on their ass and be so amazing and action-packed, audiences all over the world will be left breathless.
I would, like, die to be in The Dark Knight Rises. Being around all those hot guys. That would be my biggest dream in life! I want to be a villainess! I would be one that was probably nice – no, I kind of want to be evil! I don’t know what I’d want to be – just a villainess. I didn’t read the comic books, but my little brothers are obsessed with Batman.
The cast still feels incomplete and like it’s missing key characters. The main casts of Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) were larger.

Tom Hardy is now the first actor to appear in and play a villain in a Batman and Star Trek movie – my two favourite movie franchises.
I hope he continues doing Hollywood mainstream movies and joins the A-list . I remember first being introduced to him in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) but the world took no notice of him until the last couple of years. He is doing some amazing films now -

We will have to wait until October 2011 when they finally release the long-delayed Warrior which he co-stars with the incredibly gorgeous Jennifer Morrison (who was also in a Star Trek movie), Hollywood legend Nick Nolte and famous wrestler Kurt Angle (who I hope will have an MMA fight with Tom Hardy in the film).
Tom Hardy fought Patrick Stewart in Star Trek: Nemesis. There is a 50 per cent chance that he fights Kurt Angle in Warrior. He fights Chris Pine in This Means War and he fights Christian Bale in The Dark Knight Rises.
Wohooo!! Christopher Nolan is the undisputed best and greatest director in the world! The Dark Knight Rises will be the biggest movie ever! Watch out Avatar!

The biggest question of all.. does Bane break Batman’s back in Nolan’s version? That was the biggest arc in the character’s storyline in the comics.
He doesnt look like he will be too big, but we’ll have to see…
