OlderEllen Pompeo: Young Hollywood Awards with Jesse Williams!
Ellen Pompeo comes out to support her Grey’s Anatomy co-star, Jesse Williams, at the 2011 Young Hollywood Awards presented by Bing on Friday (May 20) at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old actress, who wore an Isabel Marant suit and shoes, hit the stage to present Jesse, 29, with the TV Actor of the Year Award.
Grey‘s creator Shonda Rhimes recently talked about the possibility Ellen may not return for another season of the hit ABC drama.
“It might be the last hurrah for a lot of them, you never know. I really don’t know and I don’t presume to know. Everybody has an individual choice to make and I get that. It’s been seven really amazing years,” she told TV Line.

Second, I thought Ellen (and Patrick) already SAID they were going to do another season, and may not after that? Or was that after season 6?
If she does leave, can they please rap up their story? Kind of hanging in the balance now after that finale…
Once her, Patrick and Sandra leave, I’m done with the show. Can’t stand the storylines they have for the rest of them, especially Callie’s (can’t stand the actress who plays her either).

i agree with most of the fans, the series should end if ellen, dereck and sandra are not on it. i am only watching the show because of merder so i hope if they will return after season 8, merder should stay. otherwise, the show will be crap.

I can’t believe that she may leave this show; she gave up her maternity leave for this. Not saying that i don’t respect her choice, just shocked because she said once in an interview how she will hold onto this opportunity (i.e. grey’s anatomy) because its hard to be a part of such a successful drama/series.

Ellen and Patrick are fulfilling their contractual obligation which is to continue with season eight. Patrick has said he might stay longer if the storylines are good. She’s leaning towards not staying longer I think.

Katherine asked to be let out of her contract early. Ellen is staying for the duration of hers and possibly longer. They are all going to be there for season eight. So nothing is going to happen for a year.
